Local artist Cherry Archer will speak about her creative journey and her commitment to addressing ecological sustainability within her art practice. She will discuss her latest public art installation that is on display at Aberdeen Station (Richmond Canada Line) from April 2024 - March 15, 2025 and share insights into getting her artwork into the public sphere.

About the Presenter:
Cherry Archer is a Vancouver-based visual artist. She studied photography at Focal Point, Vancouver and fashion design at Sheridan College, Oakville, Ontario. She is known for her botanical ice tile photography. Informed by ecopsychology, Cherry Archer’s work explores humanity’s relationship with nature, addressing themes of global warming, sustainability, biophilia, and the importance of being present in the moment. Her ongoing Botanical Ice Tile series has garnered recognition through exhibitions in art galleries across Metro Vancouver and is currently featured as public art at Capstan and Aberdeen skytrain stations in Richmond, BC and in Ottawa, Ontario. Her photography has been included in “Human”, the 10th issue of the internationally renowned Prix Pictet photobook celebrating the intersection of sustainability and photography and in the 2022 botanical issue of PhotoEd Magazine.
The Artist Salon Series features art professionals leading inspirational artist talks and professional development for visual artists each month from February to November. Programs are either live-streamed via the Zoom platform or hosted in person. Past livestreams may be viewed as videos on the RAG@Home video page.
