Joe Quesada is well known as Editor in Chief of Marvel Comics, and he played a massive, defining role in making Marvel what it is today, not only the comics, but also the cinematic universe. But that's not why we're here. Joe is also one of the most original, dynamic, exciting artists of all time. That's not to mention his masterful storytelling. He's an enormous influence on my work, and many, many others. Tonight we're going to take a look at some of the things that make his art great, and see if we can pick up some techniques that will help our own work!

Fantastic . concerning strong and weak lines . You said animation artists could use straight lines sometimes, whereas diseny used soft lines . My teacher told me that the body only consist of strong forms, like blowing air into a ballon, even the weak curve between the thumb and the pointy finger (index finger) is composed of many small, strong forms . Dave at 2:08:50 says that a weak curve can work, at the inside of daredevils leg, and notice the leg is relaxed ! this also is happening at where the glove on daradevil is kinda resting, 1:18:30 . So using weak forms in relaxed muscles is a great interpretation. A weak form would be dripping slime, and a strong form is a bulging muscle . Erick says something very interesting that the anatomy can be way off, as long as you keep the dynamic in the movement, much truth in that . Thanks for the tutition !

I think the rib cage and external oblique is what Joe was showing at around the 40 min mark with those two separate bumps on the abdomen area, but just my opinion. I'm not sure the lat would be visible there. interesting to see various interpretations of it though, and how different people see things

I love art studies so much. The stream of consciousness and discussion that happens is a treasure. @ericgroveart You may have your camera too close to the table. Every lens has a minimum focus distance and you may be exceeding that.

Make sure you grip the pen/pencil as lightly as possible and stop to do hands stretches every 2 hours or so,otherwise your going to hurt yourself in the long run! Iv been drawing for 20 years with no issue because of this, and I know people who have been drawing for 4 that have permanent repetitive strain injury because they didn't do this
