Not too much different from other forms of art, but yeah, I can see what you’re saying. There’s an artist who does something similar but uses photographs to map it out. Do we only recognize an artist when it’s completed only by hand and mind, or is use of tools, paintbrush, palette knife, computer..etc allowed? Is it how hard they worked or just how pleasing a work is to a beholder?
@drendraleigh47223 жыл бұрын
@@sonofhibbs4425 @Son Of Hibbs It's more like, when you make art you add things on. You decided by yourself where you want to put each color(I need to tell you that this is not included a portrait from real person. But still even digital artist who can pick colors from the photo still need to figure out where things should go). He runs "another painting" in a computer, got the instruction for it, follow that instruction without adding anything into the piece. Although there's so much work that need to put in it and I do respect that, follow a set instruction(put color in each cell) to make something is more like a 'craft'. But this video is not a clickbait for me since the impressionist version of the piece is indeed art, you can't really get that drippy effect from each dot from any other methods.

For all the people commenting things like “he’s just stealing” or “this doesn’t take any artistic talent” or “this isn’t real art he’s just copying” etc, first of all, I don’t know for sure, but I would assume that he is legally taking from the original paintings that he is using for his work. Other artists do/have done this, Andy Warhol for one had permission to use the images that he did. I can’t prove that he had permission to take from these paintings, but I think that it’s a reasonable assumption to make, and thus he would not be stealing. Also, he’s not copying everything about the art. He isn’t actually painting with a brush on a canvas, he is injecting acrylic paint into bubble wrap. Although the image will come out very similar, the difference in the process does make a huge difference; it makes a difference for the artist as well as for the viewer. We don’t get a lot of information from this video, but I assume that for Hart his art is more about the process than the final image. The final image is just a product of the process. This process involving bubble wrap is necessary for his idea that “paintings are just wall coverings.” Also, although he doesn’t go into detail, he does feel that this is a painstaking process. Although it’s true that he is not the one organizing the pixels/bubbles, a computer does that for him, (although I don’t think it would add much to his meaning whether he organizes the pixels himself or not since he didn’t make the original painting in the first place) the painstaking process is not in the design, but in the actual recreation. A slow process like this can really give the artist a lot of time to spend with their work and thinking about what it means. This process is important for the viewer because knowing the process of how a piece was made will make you look at it differently. If it was delicately painted or paint was hurled at the canvas or it was finger painted or the canvas was kissed with lipstick. Knowing how something was made can drastically change how you look at a painting or what meanings you get from it. Finally, for those talking about how “this doesn’t take talent” or “anyone can do this,” sometimes art isn’t about technical skill. Sometime it’s really about the idea behind it. Hart puts his own flare in these paintings with this innovative process as well as in how he chooses to drip excess paint onto the back to create an impressionist work. He chooses how much extra paint and where. It is calculated; it is not random. And although it’s true that “anyone can do this,” the point is that HE did it. Nobody else is doing this. Duchamp’s “fountain” is a turned over and signed urinal, but it is considered groundbreaking and great art because his art questioned what art even is. Again, anyone could have done that, but that isn’t what matters.
