Artist Vlog - This is what 8 years of Vending looks like - Alt Con 2024

Ok technically I get Exhibitor Booths in Vendor halls. but I'm still an artist selling at cons. I simply outgrew a small Artist Alley table. plus for like 6 to of the 8 years I was in Artist Alley. So point is. If you can make a successful career in Artist Alley - most often than not - you might find yourself to be an Artist getting booths just by doing it so long and expanding. 💙✨ I didn't want to give the wrong impression that I was a distributor for some company as Vendors traditionally are thought to.
Man I desperately need a camera or a new phone. tried running through updates and turns out my phone camera (which is all I got) really truly is. just. that. bad. so haha bare with the like 2010 looking grain on this footage 🤡😂
I hoped anyone interested in Vending learned something from this vlog and got some semblance of advice. I don't think I will vlog all of my conventions- but I think I might vlog more as well. I gave away some little vendor secrets but there's so much to this stuff that I barley scrapped the iceberg or how deep being a full time vendor as a career goes. Just like any career there's gonna be a LOT to it. So I think whenever/ifever I do more Artist Vendor vlogs- I think I'll sprinkle in new bits of advice with each video. Both so I don't repeat redundency but also so people learn something new every time because otherwise the video would be like 10 hours long lol
I also realized looking back at all the footage when editing. that... I am such a little goblin. I know a lot of people play up their attitudes for youtube but I literally am just so unhinged. I vlogged this 90% of the time all alone. So you are seeing my full unfiltered self just making little voices and faces and oh my god I'm crazy. Anytime I found something cringy- I thought about cutting it cuz I'm weird - but then I realized that's stupid and I shouldn't be embarrassed for being my funky self. so I opped to make sure to keep it all lol. no matter how cringy humor it is.

I usually try not to include such horrible atrocities of the world on my KZbin channel. I usually try to keep my youtube channel as a break or breath of fresh air from all the chaos of the world and internet. But on the day of the super bowl where tragedy struck for the whole world to notice I was vlogging that same day completely unaware of what was going on with Palestinian citizens and refugees. and the bombing... I'm so sorry. It just feels wrong not to address the overlap. That day will go down in history.
For anyone willing or wanting to help. This link has a bunch of different charities attached and information on how they help on this site. I thought a spread would be best because it gives flexibility to the donor but it should all go to help those effected in the crisis. I wish I was one of those bigger youtubers that could donate a ton. but sadly I'm not. :C so I thought a mention and small donation from myself was the least I could do. I'm sorry I can't do more.

Don't be afraid! you got this! the great thing about starting a shop or at a con is- you don't need to be at your ultimate prime to start! 💙 You grow AS you continue to vend over the years. you grow over time with your shop the more art/product you create while improving your skill and brand. You don't need to be anxious because everyone starts small and and improves enough as they go until it starts to pick up speed in sales! and that takes time so better to start sooner rather than later. Don't feel like your stuff has to be perfect or some crazy expectation to start- you can start now and grow to get to that point along the way and that is such an underrated thing when starting this stuff. start now! :>✨✨💪💪 plus the sooner you get out there- the sooner you get experience in marketing your product online/con and that's a huge skill that usually only starts by getting out there. so you'll only go up! :D I will definitely vlog a much more successful show and I hope it is inspiring to show what you can do if you really invest in cons ! (if ur interested that is lol. it's ok to just do it as a hobby too lol) anyone can do this and if I can show you the ropes so I'm the one that made mistakes so you don't have to I hope that will give you the courage to do it. You are your own worst critic.- so don't let anxiety hold you back and people at the con will like your stuff. you got this!!! 💙 I'm sure your art rocks!

oh my god I've never been to any public gathering like this at all but despite its unfruitful harvest and being generally unpopulated just watching you set up everything and look around at all of the stuff and all of the different communities in their cosplays in the big open area it all just felt so magical and looking at all of the shiny stuff had the bird in my brain going crazy and all of the lovely art too there was so much to look at and those die earrings look great btw i dont even have pierced ears and i want those (also i love that hat especially the dice hanging from it) and the fish at the end with the oneshot music had my brain doing kickflips everything here is so pretty I love it

I was tired and "busy" and just know my brain was an explosion of nostalgia. even though I was face down on the couch being a lazy loaf of bread. As far as the con goes, I am so sorry you experienced that. I tabled at ATL con a few years ago and it was so slow and awful. I have a friend that vended two years ago and it was insane how terrible it was for her too. Again, I am so sorry experienced that, but I am glad you did have fun there --outside the con with food and the Aquarium! I am SO HAPPY to know that other people feel the same way I do about this game! I have been wanting to say something for a while because I have heard the village theme multiple times in your videos and was like "THAT SERIOUSLY CANNOT BE A FELLOW LOVER OF THE GAME". It was(is) such a great game and I wish they would just hurry and bring it to Switch or something. It also really, really made me love the constellation Cygnus the Swan so, so much.
