Artist is one of those words with more than one meaning. (1) Artist = A person who uses traditional art supplies such as paint, charcoal, pastels and ink to create art pieces, this is a type of the second meaning of artist. (2) Artist = A person who creates art, this includes artists, crafters, tailors and writers.

I've been slowly learning about uv resin and epoxy resin for a while now, and this video was both very familiar to what I've done, and also very entertaining. Do more, and ask Nerdecrafter for help! That is actually a really cool kit, with loads of awesome stuff - I'd definately order it, if I didn't have to worry about customs and shipping costs. UV resin is hard to find in Europe. The plastic film with pictures is, if I'm correct, a film with a sticky surface, and you put the metal frame on top of it, and then add resin in the frame. The image transfers to the resin, and the frame is a part of a pendant, not a mold. I suck at explaining this, but that's kind of how you use them.

This was fun to watch! There's a special tape that you can buy from Sophie and Toffee or Miniature Sweet to stick your open bezel charms to (the metal frames you filled with resin). It will help prevent the resin from leaking out, I'm also thinking that's why the resin is sunken in. I'm actually a little surprised that they didn't think to include some in the box. The resin films can actually be cut out and used in your resin projects (ideally films are sandwiched between two layers of resin). Also if you have any resin on the metal itself you can always use a Q-tip or a tooth pick wrapped in tissue to remove it before curing your piece :) I quite enjoy your painting videos but I hope you consider doing more craft-related content in the future! ♡

Good try! I've only started working with UV resin this year and find it fun! Slow patience and a lot of isopropyl alcohol for clean up! I started out with painting/drawing/ink too. Got my BFA but wasnt using any of it so I fell into nail art. Leading to gel polish and lamps. I make a lot of jewelry and I love being crafty artsy again because I can paint on the resin after curing! Sticky means not cured all the way or inhabition layer formed and just wipe with alcohol or seal with clear gel polish. Enjoy your fun content always!! Love Jackie too! Learned so much from her with crafts! Keep practicing and you will get it! It's just another type of canvas!!

Yesss, Jackie is the resin art queen. I don't have the skill or patience to do half the things she does with resin and/or polymer clay. I did spend like $12 on a resin kit that was really easy to use, it just had clear UV resin and some moulds and (whatever you call the tiny rubbery pictures) in it. It was only easy because I didn't have to mix anything, so didn't need to worry about air bubbles.

Chloe you can use a finger nail file on the resin to smooth out any rough edges and you can paint the back of the heart charm with nail polish or acrylic paint. You can also fill in any bubble holes with nail polish, and if you really want the color yellow, use paint or nail polish to accomplish what you desire. The resin is acrylic based just like the paint and nail polish. I think you did quite well for never having used a resin curing system before, well done.

I want this kit so bad! I'm jealous, I love the colors. I'm going to have to get their beginner kit as well though, it has all the things you need to get started. You need to put tape on the back of the charms to have the resin not run out from the spaces. You can add more resin to the sunken ones to get them level though.

I tried to do resin but I couldn't handle it, I'm really clumsy and such. I have some molds, tools, and resin though, if you have a po box you can have them ;) To keep the resin from leaking in the metal molds, you need to tape the bottom before pouring. You can use a lighter to pop bubbles, and you can also do thin layers at a time for details. Also keep the windows open for ventilation lol

Jackie recommended her followers to watch your video so here I am. thank you for putting a smile in my face. It's not bad for first timer. As for tips, you can use wide masking tape to put on the back of the pendant, proceed one area at time, cure and repeat. Also, use less pigment because if you add too much resin will have trouble curing. And pro tip; study first of what to do and prepare some tools. I also think that you might be able to resque that one pendant as you should be able to pop resin out of that and start over. ^^
@lorenehughes4 жыл бұрын
You did so well!!! Especially with limited instructions!!
@marcellava4 жыл бұрын
If you do decide to use resin more often and finish the other bezels here’s a tip, put tape to fully cover one side so it doesn’t seep out as you pour, dripping smaller globs with a tooth pick into tiny cracks before pouring the rest of the resin helps from keeping it off the metal, and lastly resin shrinks slightly, so you could either fill in layers and stages or over fill slightly and bet that the surface tension will play nice with you

I'm not a resin crafter, but from videos of some other youtubers: you need to use the resin as a glue and attach it to the surface of whatever you are doing it on and only when I dries you fill it up. You need to "glue" all metal outlines for this. The artist I watched uses a transparent file thingy for these. Good luck, Chloe. Also you better air your room because resin is toxic, you shouldn't breathe with it too much
@lyllydd4 жыл бұрын
Haven' done resin in a long time, but I do remember that if you're doing something like that pendant, you need to put packing tape on the back of it to keep the resin from leaking out all over the place. You peel off the tape once everything is cured.
@distinctdesignsbytina35574 жыл бұрын
Hi. I had the issue of my hands getting sweaty in rubber gloves until I switched to vinyl. Maybe try that? Also, you should only resin in a well ventilated area. It can make you really sick. That should have been put in the booklet they sent. If you ever do another metal open charm, try putting it firmly on packing tape first.

I use resin all the time and while this is a great box of goodies it’s definitely not beginner resin crafts at all. You did great though for your first time!! Tips if I may?: Tape the bezels (the wire things you pour your resin in) to packaging tape or painters tape. Doesn’t matter as long as the tape sticks to the back of the meta. They will help the resin from seeing out of the bezel when you put it in. I also recommend to use a tooth lick and drop small amounts at a time so you don’t over fill or make a mess everywhere. The holo stickers are for putting inside the resin, I believe I saw one of the queens face!? Work with UV resin in small thin layers and a tiny bit of pigment goes a long way! You can som times blow on the bubbles with a straw, drag them to the surface with a tooth pick or in my case I use a kitchen torch or a heat gun to get rid of the. Although I use epoxy resin that takes hours to cure... maybe someone else can shed some light on the bubbles for UV resin? I hope some of that helped. Resin is not as hard to work with as people think. You just need to get the basics down, then Play with colours and the molds and you’ll have a blast!!! If you have any questions please let me know :) 💜
@TheArtisticNewfie4 жыл бұрын
I forgot to mention that any glue residue from the tape can be rubbed off the finish bezel with nail polish remover. And please forgive my spelling mistakes. My iPhones keyboard has a mind of its own lol 🤦♀️😆
