Good talent that we always watched when growing up in India. But that time the end of the bed side was not that big where there are gaps. Because this seems very uncomfortable if few people sit on it and the ones sitting towards feet side Don't have a comfortable feeling due to gaps. Patterns are nice and colorful.

That weaving doesn't look like it should be able to be done that way without cutting the thread multiple amount of times. It's really amazing to watch the process over and over and over and still not be able to work out how it's just one very long thread (so to speak). Also if it's what you sleep on then why do you only tightly weave 2/3 of the bed? Why not do the entire length? I'd really love to know. It's beautiful by the way.

The reason they weave 2/3 of it is that due to usage the weave becomes a bit loose, so it can be easily tightened by pulling the strings of 1/3rd part which are less densely woven as compared to the 2/3 part which is densely woven!
