ARTMS is pronounced "Artemis". Artemis was the Greek goddess of the moon, the hunt, and childbirth, and sister of Apollo. Appropriately, Artemis is also the name of the current NASA program to return humans to the moon. ARTMS is not a subunit of Loona - although all five members are/were in that group. Loona is currently, and for the foreseeable future will be inactive, after the members sued their former agency BlockBerry Creative in 2022 due to their contracts being exploitive and unfair. All twelve members of Loona won their lawsuits and left BlockBerry Creative during the first half of 2023. While Loona isn't disbanded, and the members all express their desire to reunite at some point for some sort of group activity, the twelve members are spread between new groups ARTMS (HeeJin, HaSeul, Kim Lip, JinSoul & Choerry) and Loossemble (HyunJin, YeoJin, ViVi, Go Won & HyeJu), and soloists Chuu and Yves.
