A few comments have said "make sure you donate the art supplies" and I would like to say that I did in fact mention that I would donate any art supplies that were still usable, but most of them were not and I had someone help chop some of this video down for me as it was over 4 hours long, they cut the part where I mentioned donating the puffy paint once I realized it was still full and usable. But I ended up keeping it anyway. To make it clear, I am heavily eco friendly, I donate clothes, items, old toys, unused product and my art supplies in the past I have usually collected and sent to people. Most recently I sent a big box to a young girl who didn't have many art supplies. I just don't splash that all over social media because I do things like that in private, so while I appreciate you mention me donating unused supplies, I do. And I didn't throw anything out except old dried out paint that was unusable to anyone.

At the end of the day being organized takes effort and when you're busy arting or anything you can either take the time to clean as you go or you're in the zone and need to keep moving and take the time to clean up later. 😖 Of course for people who are comfortable in their clutter or have someone to clean it for them, they don't have to worry about either ☺

ahhhhh yep, add-i (used to be adhd, inattentive type) is like this. i literally just... forget. like. i go to the kitchen to get a drink. the clock is blinking because a storm caused a flash brownout. i reset the clock. i leave the kitchen. much later, i am SO THIRSTY. i go to get a drink. I have forgotten the first time. the dishes distract me. i wash some of the dishes. i am now Irritated. I attribute it to letting the dishes get so dirty, and I'm now hyper-aware of little messes like crumbs in the kitchen. I have forgotten that I'm still actually thirsty. But... with everything. Everything. Especially art things. My office is... a chronic mess. I HATE that my office is a mess. Hate it. I am buried. I clean almost daily, an hour a day. I often spend more time cleaning than creating. And yet. This is why when people are warning me "Oh, you should get off your very low-dose meds because some people are *addicted*..." No, Debra. A normal-brained person gets addicted. I still can't even function on the ultra-low dose allowed by law because of people like you and non-ADD addicts who just want to pass a test at school. I miss doses because they can only be refilled on certain days by calendar and run out before refills are allowed by law, starting a terrible cycle of withdrawal and re-acclimation. Every few months. To achieve THAT level of not-messy. ::rolls eyes:: I totally, truly sympathize.

Interior designer speaking, a little suggestion for the next organization video. Painting the inside of the dark cupboard with white paint will make the items in the back more visible. Right now, with not much lighting, you basically look into a black hole with items in it. A light colored wallpaper would do the trick too. :)

This is so accurate. My room has a corner where I keep all my supplies and at one point they all started appearing in other places so I just figured I'd buy a taller shelf and I more or less followed what she did as far as classifying what to put in each area. I know where everything is which is great so long as no one else tries to dig through it. But honestly the only way to really keep this organized is... well there isn't a way to do it. Even having a room just for arts and crafts you'll get tired and messy and just not clean up right away. At least that's what I've seen in my experience lol
@ChloeRoseArt3 жыл бұрын
Whats your best organizing tip for your art supplies?! My favorites that I learned for this video: If you're limited in room, stack up if you have space vertically versus outwards IE use stackable containers Have clear containers that match and butt up against eachother with no space in between Pull everything to the front instead of pushing things to the back Pull everything out at once, get messy before you get organized so you can lay everything out at once Stack everything upright (my hack here for my paper and sketchbooks was to use a makeup palette holder) Utilize "shelf organizers" if you have lots of different things. This way you can see what is behind the other things instead of having to dig through everything to get to the back. I linked every product I used in this video in the description if you want to see what I used :) Thanks so much for watching!!

This is the video I didn't know I needed! I'm always amazed at how organised your space looks- I have a similar sized space I use for storage and online teaching but I can't paint in such a small space! The one thing that helps me is forcing myself to put things away after I use them- but I'm like you and it lasts a few days before going to 💩

So I am wondering if this new system has helped when you are filming and grabbing things out? Do things still fall out? I wonder if it would be more beneficial to put things you hardly ever use behind you in that black cabinet so that you don’t end messing up all that wonderful storage? 🧐 Love your stuff!

I feel like this sounds like a rude thing to say but seeing that you dont have like a gigantic hoard completely full of art supplies left and right in a giant studio like some other art channels ive seen makes me feel like more, able to organize my own things?Relatable? Like seeing you be able to organize all your art supplies that isnt in a gigantic studio while holding a whole bunch of just a bajillion art supplies makes me feel more connected to you i guess. I don't have alot of room so i don't have the best organization (alot is on the floor) but seeing you able to roganize your stuff very well in a small area itself makes me feel like ill be able to organize my own! And i don't mean that people shouldn't have a huge amount of art supplies because they all work hard to earn everything they get and absolutely deserve it but i feel more...i guess connected to you in a way? Im not sure but love your art and videos and the patience you have to paint for literally hours

I think you did a fantastic job organizing your art supplies. If you don’t want to stack the containers in the black cabinet, you could add some shelves. It would make accessing the lower containers much more convenient. Another quick tip for removing dried paints, adhesives, etc. is to put some hand sanitizer on it and let soak for about 1 minute. It should wipe right off. That way you don’t have to scrape it off the marble. If you are interested, another great organizer is Clutter Bug here on YT. She actually helps break down ways of organizing based on your personal style, which will help you stay organized. Again, great job!

Chloe! Your left over cleaner organizing makeup palates plastic/ glass slots in that so the gouache would not make a mess. I know your metallic gouache in a box but it would help so the other ones would not go sliding around the clear container. If you read this I am a HUGE fan and I would like to thank you for your funny awesome content! Have a good day!

A cool trick I saw my friend do was mount binder clips on the wall (You could mount them to a separate piece of wood that you can hang on the wall the same as a picture frame) and use the little squeezy clip parts to hold the bottom of paint tubes. So all her paint was displayed on the wall and easy to see. And it looked cool!

I am struggling with being a multimedia artist in a small area, and felt the messiness before the calm in my soul! You did so well, Chole!! Great results, so satisfying.

I'm just starting out and it's comforting that it's not just me whose surfaces are a disaster and a half lol. Especially when you're in that creative space nothing gets neatly and quickly returned to order! Things just flying around 🤣

Take the doors off the cupboard behind your chair, so you can get stuff out easily and put it back without a struggle. Maybe having all on display will encourage you to keep it neat. Looks great BTW.

Have you considered taking the glass doors off the console? With them removed you can easily reach in while sitting at your desk.

Seeing other people in cramped messy spaces makes me feel better about my cramped and messy space. You are already more organized than me before you started organizing.

I would suggest if you are trying to create an art space or room and you are looking for items, etc, make a list of what you need. Go to the dollar store to see if they have anything on your list or that will be a good replacement, or better, buy as cheap as possible. Go to thrift shops possibly they will have some furniture you could use. Take a walk through a hardware store.

I have a big clear bin for all my mediums, and storing acrylic paints by colour is a great tip someone gave me. Reds yellows and blues, I took it further and have an earth tones container and a black and white container, and I have it all in a big sewing bin with dividers so I can take it to wherever I'm working. I also have separate bins for gouache, watercolour, alcohol inks etc. I have a separate bin for all my low end and older acrylic paints for when I want to just screw around in a sketchbook.

Vintage suitcases, tool boxes and old metal briefcases are awesome for portable storage, even if it's just moving it from a cupboard to the desk.

Suggestions: Move the black cabinet to the side where you put your desk while you were organizing. Or you could take the doors off. Both ideas will allow you to easily access what's inside with ease. I like the idea of having the cricut on top of the cabinet.(out of sight, out of mind). Having it plugged in will "encourage" you to use it. Tfs.

Do not stress about the lack of clear plastic containers. I personally think they are overrated. What's is really important is that the system works for you, so you can maintain it. I really like the clutterbug channel here on youtube. She has a method in which depend on what kind of clutter bug you are (butterfly, cricket, bee, or ladybug) you organized and implements different systems. And she has helpful videos for each bug. I highly recommend her if you struggle again. :)

So relatable, Ur literally me I love organized things and I'm not bad at organizing my stuff but I just can't get my brain to go clean my art room cuz it's too disorganized and I'm actually SCARED to clean it cuz I'm sure it will take forever an dit will be too tiring, when I eventually do so I cant keep it for a week straight lol. 🌠STRUGGLES🌠
