To comments like "Dissection clone"; i disagree. Sure, there are similarities, but The Spirit holds their own. There are influences from Emperor and even more progressive metal bands, and dual guitar patterns and riffs that draw strongly from Death and Chuck Schuldiner. Stellar effort!

Brutal, I listen to metal since the 80´s and it´s impressive how this band is not already in the top of the tops, I was a musician too and for me their sound seems like Chuck have came from the dead and unite his forces with Watain, oh by the way RIP Chuck (the master). around 30 years ago when it all started black metal was strange and shaky,unformed etc...today Im paying attention to this band and being mindblown with every new song I listen to. its crazy how the path of the genre oscilated from gold to shit,but bands like Spirit are securing black metal on a golden throne. Snowflakes Fell On Sounds From The Vortex they really sounded like Dissection (which is not bad because I love that sound), on Cosmic Terror also pretty much but less than on Sounds...and on Of Clarity And Galactic Structures they more and more shape their own face.

Lots of Dissection inspiration so the obvious ones being Sacramentum, Dawn, Thulcandra, Black Horizons, Unanimated, Kvaen, Condra, Ninkharsag. More outer but still similar ones being Sarastus, Naglfar (Swe), Malphas, God Dethroned, Stortregn, Lord Belial, Sacrilege, A Canorous Quintet, Necrophobic.

I can hear the dissection inspiration but MGLA no way jose! This music is more melodic and dinamic yet not so obscure, bleack and misanthropic as in MGLA. And most definetly, not a clone band, there are some influences from Swedish melo black/death but the cosmic atmosphere is unique.
