Hi Myrna! Jeana's out of town this week but let me try and clear things up for you. The Curve has a stronger ultrasound, Radio Frequency (which is great for tightening), Red LED, and biomechanical vibration. It is mainly meant for use on the body to tighten loose skin and reduce cellulite. It can be used on the face, but its larger form factor is better suited for the body. Again, it is a device for tightening skin and boosting collagen production. The Wave is meant to be a daily skincare tool to supercharge your routine so to speak. It has positive and negative ions, which pull debris out of the skin when cleansing, and push serums into the skin while infusing serums. It also has ultrasound and biomechanical stimulation like the curve, however the ultra sound is at a lower frequency. It has red, blue, and green led which address different skin issues, while the curve only has red. It is also in a smaller form factor which is better for the face. In short: Curve=tightening and toning Wave=increasing the effectiveness of your skincare routine and boosting overall skin health Hope this helps :) -Ben

In your video, you use Ion + for toning but when you demonstrated the cleansing mode, you said, "positive=pulling." Wouldn't you want to drive the toner in to the skin using the Ion negative mode? Thank you for clarifying

It really depends on the kind of toner that you are using. If using an active toner for exfoliation use +. If using a nourishing toner or hydrasol use -.

My local esthetician like MSB - she says it has a lifetime warranty. Why is the Wave a step up? Is it stronger? Or is it because it can be customized more? It seems like a lot of pushing buttons to get it set.

Hi Paula! The MSB is a great tool that has much of the same features as the MBK Wave. However, the Wave is a step up because it has ultrasound (which the MSB doesn't have), stronger LEDs, more customization of settings, and it doesn't heat up which is beneficial for people with heat induced hyperpigmentation. The MSB does heat up which some people really like for cleansing and infusing serums. Hope that helps :) -Ben

Hi Jeana, do you know if it is safe to use both the ultrasonic and ion therapies when you have metal fillings? I have a gold crown and this is a constant source of confusion with energy treatments. There is very little information out there on this, and often conflicting information. I definitely had some lingering pain and a strong metal taste in my mouth when using microcurrent and radiofrequency (not sure which one was the culprit since I was using both interchangeably.) I'm hoping it's not an issue with this modality. Thank you!

Hey there: if Ultrasonic Cavitation is specifically used to melt fat on the body (and many of those devices look alarmingly similar to this one), how can we be sure this ultrasonic device won't have that same effect on the face? I was recently traumatized by fat loss from a home RF device, so I'm extremely gun shy now about the safety of home devices. Especially since the manufacturer of that RF device assured it wasn't possible to cause facial fat loss, and turns out this is not the case. Are there scientific papers on this strength of ultrasound? Does it depend how thin the skin is or the specific treatment areas? I just purchased one of these but am already having buyers remorse because of this anxiety. What are the risks associated with ultrasonic and galvanic energy treatments?

You bring up an interesting point. Many people think stronger is better and that is not true. The Wave uses 3mhz which has been studied and used for years for facial rejuvenation. The probel that occurs is when people use an ultrasound device thatvis designed for the body on the face. Body ultrasound is usually 1mhz (which is 3x stronger than 3mhz). Ultrasound for the bodybis designed to go deeper into the skin. Our ultrasound device at 3mhz only penetrates the superficial layers, 2.5 cm at most. I do think that medical offices err on the side of too strong. I don’t get laser treatments and Inwould not get ultrasound or RF done in a medical setting. They are using people as guinea pigs when they start using too strong of modalities. I have been using the Wave for 3 minutes or less daily for 5 years and I have only seen positive effects. Primarily, I use it to infuse my water-based serums. I would say that if you are concerned, don’t do long treatments. Just use it for two minutes to cleanse and 2 minutes to infuse your serums.
