The most inspiring thing from this match for me was NaDa's willingness to keep tanks unsieged. Often you see tanks 100% sieged at all times, but being unsieged allowed him to pop back and forth to reduce damage and to also pursue and punish.

I was playing terran when back in the day nada started to make those unsieged pushes at around 150pop. He would crush a lot of pros doing it. On this video he showed glimpses of his tank+vult+mines micro. The way he body blocked zealots to allow his tanks to escape was genius. Great usage of mines too.

I think he was just out macro'd by the toss. He had so much more bases running and production buildings that Nada couldn't keep going. Like Nada was one timing push and he tried long time to make that happen, but when its going on too long without a third base you will be overwhelmed at a certain point.

I think Nada was being held in a harass output mode, not doing damage while the Protoss was holding Nada with less committed… Toss could continue to tech while Terran had to maintain output and couldn’t afford another CC without losing ground

To add to the others, Nada also lost his critical mass of siege tanks in that earlier encounter. Protoss greater economy outstripped him after that

Artosis have you considered doing extra casts for the Patreon? I think it would bring a lot of people over. Also an idea for the Patreon or main channel is teaching Broodwar essentials. Even learning how to macro with hotkeys, what hotkeys to rebind to, general strategy and mechanics like walls would be super helpful to all the Starcraft peasants like myself and its rare to find good videos on them on youtube. Day9 has a great series but I haven't seen much else.

That was fun. I'm a huge Nada fan and it was fun watching how his old school playstyle and absolute world class mechanics scale. If he keeps grinding he can easily be top 3 Terran players again. Not sure I've ever seen another pro with his kind of ability to macro and micro at the same time. His APM this whole game was NUTS at high 300's to 400.

Always loving these TvP with P music, but I have a question that might be a noob one, but I always had the urge to know, how you defeat protoss on the long run? As a terran, like before the protoss get the 4th or 5th base? Because I always see that it gets overrun pretty quick with T having always only two bases meanwhile P has like 5 already, and when they make a solid state against them, they make a switch to carriers and its the end well usually the end

AFAIK that is why they call terran the timing push race, they just don't generally win in the long run so they always go for a timing push at the right time.

it's not balanced in the single game sense but across the mappool it balances out. close spawns 4 player maps terran should have an advantage over protoss

If you only need to win one game each series, you can plan for a really specific cheese that doesn't interact with most of the game's mechanics and elements, and thus you could be a worse overall RTS player but still win in an RTS game.
