Fancy paint can be really nice when you need a vibrant color or intricate details, but Rusto is still king for many reasons. 1. You just cannot argue with how long Rusto lasts in the elements or on rusty metal. I have tried almost every brand and line of fancy paint, each one in numerous colors - e.g. Molotow, Montana Gold and Black, MTN Hardcore and 94, Flame Orange and Blue, Ironlak (new and older formulas), Fresh Paint, Plutos, and others - but none held up on freight like Rusto. And this is not just my impression, I did an experiment and tracked a handful of panels for over a year to see how similar shades of fancy paint and Rusto held up side by side. A few brands and colors did better than others, but it was pretty clear that Rusto was the victor in every test. 2. The price! You can't find fancy paint for free to $4 in the states. Even if you are paying $6 even a can for nice paint, a proper piece can easily cost $20+ more than if you just used Rusto - that is huge if you are getting up regularly and/or are on a budget. I do agree with some of your criticisms though: the Rusto valve needs a lot of work and some of of their color formulas need to be changed to be more opaque and/or thick. A faster dry time would be nice too. Oh, and the moss green color is pretty shitty, eden works wayy better. I still occasionally use fancy paint - they are a joy to paint with and work great for forcefields, details, and to add some extra color - but I just don't trust them as a base or outline for my panels. All that being said, keep up the great work GR! Your videos are always entertaining and informative.

What? Lol it's a totally different formula. It is made for industrial use and DIY. It is enamel and has fish oil in it that resists rust. I would use rusto any day on a train or whatever, over fancy paint.

rusto is an oil based enamel and ur going over it with acrylic resin. its like water over oil so of course it needs to fully dry. if u used molotow it probably wouldve blended better. and the only cap he used was a soft cap. they call it a fat but it is the slowest cap to use. those are good for outlining with, blending, or detailed tags in cuty spots where u have alot of time. i wouldve used that other female fatcap or the adapter.a lso gr is spoiled with such great paint at his disposal. joeflow recently painted that spot with rustos and stock caps and it came out proper. but i get it gr is a sales man and he makes his money off selling euro cans and not caps for american paint. and he is correct. its better flow, better valves, caps work well with them. but rusto is decent with an adapter. only real good caps fpr them to fill with are rusto fats, boston fats, def boston fats!, and ny fats. but every thin tip works perfectly with an adapter. and the paint is durable and uv resistant. like molotow but half the price. only thing i like about euro paint is how fat they spray when ur bombing. u can be in and out in half the time. i apologize for a somewhat negative comment, gr. but rusto is my baby. its not stockholm syndrome, its supporting an american brand. i agree the new valve sucks dick, but us writers are MacGyvers of the artworld. its our shit to find a way around obsticals and make shit happen.

since when did American writers support Rustoleum? We use it for several reasons; it has adequate colorfastness, it gets the job done in terms of coverage on a variety of surfaces, and most important IT IS FREE. If a "writer" buys Rustoleum, they are a fucking joke. It's one thing to buy quality paint like Belton, that doesn't make you a toy. But if you are actually spending money on Rustoleum and torturing yourself out of some blind patriotism, you are fucking stupid.

The problem with Rustoleum is with the yellow the primer doesn't necessarily mix well so you have to air it until the paint runs.

Good looking out on that can starter idea! I use evolve paint often and they start out real stringy and its the fastest way to clog a thin tip is to not use a fat cap 1st lmao but i usually start them with a fat cap and blablahhblahh but i have some of those "starter tips" laying around just from messing with tips hahah great tip man 👍

The only place to get good stuff is at this art shop here, but cans of montana gold are like 15 bucks and ironlak is 8 bucks a can. Its a hardknock life for the AK writers.

I have used a shitload of cans from a brand called plasticote... Not nearly as good as molotows and stuff like that, but it was free andmore paint = more action.... The chrome tho, they stopped making it but it was fucking awesome, exactly same colour like a burner chrome, but lasted way better and a 400ml can filled out more than a 500ml burner.... Really miss those chromes, i still got 1 of them but that will never be used.
