Love Josie's art. I think her resin plaster florals were some of the first Instagram posts that had me thinking beyond just coating art with resin. You are awesome Josie. Great video!

Just started using Art Resin, it's a delight to use a resin that does not smell, great product guys, I have started to use multiple resin layers, my question is how thick should each layer be, or does it matter whether I choose a thin layer then a thick layer, also I have been taking off the tape after each layer is this correct or should I leave it on thanks artresin
@Artresin7 жыл бұрын
taking off the tape after each layer will make your life easier when it is all done :) you wot be stuck picking at the tape trying to get it all off! the thinner the layer, the less likely you are to have pesky bubble stuck because they didnt have time to escape. if you heat up the room you are working with, the artresin is a lot thinner and bubbles escapes much easier so you can do thicker pours in HOT rooms! (some people even have 'ovens' set up for casting things... )

do you need to bake the clay before the resin
@Artresin5 жыл бұрын
Hello Ellena - In this video Josie is using modelling clay in which case it doesn't need to be baked. www.artresin.com/blogs/artresin/how-to-resin-modelling-clay If you're using polymer clay, like Fimo or Sculpey, you can certainly bake it first www.artresin.com/blogs/artresin/can-you-put-epoxy-resin-on-polymer-clay

That is cool. Curious what kind of clay she was using: air dry, polymer clay etc. I bought some small wood squares a while ago on clearance with the intent of doing a polymer clay painting. Just haven't gotten to it yet. :) - Heidi

ArtResin Thanks! Well I will try to use what I have. Don't have Art Resin yet but it is on my list soon as I run through the resin I have now which is quite a bit. I am trying as fast as I can. :)

ArtResin hee hee!! Already on your team in spirit if that means anything. :) Share some of your vids, recommend your resin when someone asks me about resin and so on. The weather here in my part of Texas has been helpful. It has been quite hot so my house is always at a good temperature for working with resin. :P

I went to your website and I'd like to see more of your work in thick resin slab style that we see here but you only have a few there. Aren't your making them anymore...? It seems you are more about selling your watercolor block works...
@Artresin7 жыл бұрын
Hi Claudette - I can't speak for Josie but absolutely she still makes the thick resin slabs - in fact, she recently put out a video showing exactly how she does it! Click on the link and you can see it - it's pretty awesome! www.artresin.com/blogs/artresin/how-to-pour-a-thick-layered-resin-collage-with-artist-josie-lewis

As I said I went to her personal website, and there were only a few items in the slab format. She stated that she will commission work but there were no additional pieces other than the ones you have listed here at ArtResin. I'm an active artist, creating new work all the time my fellow artist friends as well.
