I was blessed to have had lunch with him once in Toronto when he was on book tour for "Silver Surfer". I brought along my copy of "The Airtight Garage..." for signing as I was both a Moorcock and Moebius fan. I had him sign it to Jerry Cornelius and he was so amused by that that he invited me to lunch w him afterwards. Such a sweet explorer of life. And genius artist.

Moebius was to comics what Queen was to pop music, an unprecedented revelation, and who inspired many to lend, steal, be inspired by his work. Been a fan since my first view of the first Metal Hurlant. Had I just kept them. Oh, regrets.

I have been noticing pieces of Moebius across my life, through film and random unattributed images, and it wasn't until I was an adult that I could assemble them in order to understand who it was that created them. Then a few years after I finally learned the name and understood the legend the man was gone. It's crazy to realize that it's been twelve years since he died. When an artist, especially one of his caliber, passes away from the world it is like a window to an incredible dimension has been slammed shut with the death. All we have left are the renderings of what existed there, enchanting and awe inspiring memories clinging to paper until time and age utterly wastes them.

It's strange that his other great work: The World of Edena wasn't mentioned here. It was a huge work plus its accompanying book The Art of Edena. A truly great artist with a wonderful sense of humour and great vision and imagination.

The World Of Edena, a fine specimen of a graphic novel, to name one I purchased. The Jodorowsky-mo€bius split, The Incal, seems like it would be incredible, not to mention one short lived super adrenaline filled animation. I bought the book so if I was disappointed in anything regarding this video, so be it.

The saga “Le Monde d'Edena” is for me by far his best work. Probably because my father introduced me to Moebius when I was 8 or 9 years old. I didn't really like the story (too complicated for me) but the drawings alone made me experience incredible adventures.
