A week before the Bivol fight, I think this the best that someone's done against Beterbiev. I know other people have scored a knockdown on him and taken him more rounds, but Gvozdyk had the right ideas and basically just ran out of steam in the second half of the fight. It was kind of satisfying that although he was stopped, it was three knockdowns and he didn't get put to sleep as that wouldn't have reflected how tough he is and his own ability in the fight.

At the beginning of the fight, they showed Andre Ward's independent scoring-he gave the first round to Gvozdyk (though it could have gone to Beterbiev), and the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th rounds to Beterbiev. After that, for some reason, they stopped showing the independent scorecard. Apparently, if Gvozdyk had managed to last until the end, they wanted to give the fight to him. That’s the only way to explain how Gvozdyk was ahead at the time of the stoppage, which is simply nonsense. You could generously give Gvozdyk only three rounds-the 1st, 6th, and 8th-and even that’s debatable. Even if you “gift” Gvozdyk one more round, whichever one, by the 9th round, Beterbiev was still winning. It’s just outrageous. Gvozdyk already looked bad after the first round, turned pale, and started breathing heavily. As for Bivol, I wouldn’t be surprised if the judges are biased the same way. It infuriates me when so-called "boxing experts," especially the Russians, talk about the Bivol vs. Beterbiev fight, saying things like "Even Gvozdyk was ahead on the scorecards," and that for Bivol, the main thing is just to survive until the end.

After watching this fight. I'm convinced that Beterbiev will have problems with Bivols speed. Gvozdyk was able to keep Beterbiev honest with a Mid speed sharp jab, a straight right, and decent defense for 8 and a half rounds. On the flip side it seems that Beterbiev was just cruising until he got the knockout, also he seems as the type who fights to the Level of his competition. I like him and Bivol. But if Arthur starts slow I don't know 🤔🤔🤔

This is a 5 years younger version of Beterbiev. After watching this, I'm even more confident that Bivol will beat Beterbiev. Gvozdyk held off Artur for almost 10 rounds and he can't box half as good as Bivol can. This much younger version of Beterbiev, you have to assume, isn't quite the same as he was here.
