-For people who attempt to do Shift and Pad 8 but never seem to sync to the preset- -> Please note: I recommend talking to the tech support themselves because they know way more about their products than I do. >>Here is what I did. 1) open Midi Control Center 2) update to the pastes filmware, make sure that it is updated (follow what the page says directly) 3) unplug the Midi to the USB 4) press Oct - and oct + at the same time and hold it 5) while holding, plug in the USB, the board should go white for a few seconds, then will light with colors, that means that it has reset. Finally close the app and open You Ableton Live version and make sure the presets are correct (it should look like the one in videos) and press shift pad 8 TIP: after the factory reset you should see on the Midi control center, in the local Templates section, an Ableton memory. That is how I know it was on there

When you installed analog Lab, it should had asked you for where to install/copy the VST plugin, in my case is in "program files/VstPlugins/" in ableton go to the options menu, then click preferences go to the file folder tab and select that folder in the VST plugin folder selection, after scanning it, it shoul appear in your plugins categories.

Hi, I have a question regarding the drum rack in Ableton. When my MK2 is in the Ableton mode, I can't map the individual drums to the drum pads since the drum pads perform Ableton functions. The only way to record drums seems to be switching back and forth between shift+8 (to start recording) to shift+1 (to play the drums) and back to shift+8 (to stop recording). What am I missing here??

Or... open another track and program the Minilab to a different instrument? Or: do you have to choose ONE instrument with the plugin, and that's the only one you can use? At 3:58 it's confusing because in fact you are not recording at all. What we hear is what is actually playing in the clip at at top left corner symbolized with a green triangle. To recording live you would have to hit some notes on the keyboard.

Hi there, I have just watched your video and I have just purchased the mini lab it is my first controller other than the alesis recital pro I've brought to work alongside it. the challenge I'm having is I was told that the minilab works completely with Ableton out of the box however it seems that at the 16th knob and the pads don't vertically assign clips and don't arm for recording or playback they are just making instruments noises do you have any idea how I can remedy this and is there a quick reset that would sort it it??? thanks Chris H.

I had to assign Analog lab as a plug in by going into Options, preferences, plugins, rescan, VST2 to ON, browse, assign the VST Plugins folder in program files. Computers are F*cking wild

Did you watch the vid where it talks about shift+pad 8? Then Have a live set open that has clips in it. Select the row manually on you computer. Press shift+pad 8. The pads matching the columns that have clips in that row should light up, IF you did all the set up in the options.

Ben Conlon top left hand corner in the midi control center it has tab Firmware revision’ with a number next to it. Eg 1.0.9. Click on the number and it will give you the option to update

If anybody is experiencing an issue where you press shift + 8 and it doesn't load up the correct preset, make sure to press the "MIDI" button at the top right of live then while it's toggled, do the shift + 8

@@Simonnnnnnnify To have control to stop a clip, you have to set the launch mode of the clip to toggle, rather than trigger. Then the pads work to start and stop the clips. You can set the default launch mode to Toggle in the Launch preferences. Makes a lot more sense that way. It also changes the way the Play buttons work on the clips in the grid. Seems like an alternate is to get to a row with an empty slot in the track you want to stop and press that. Not so convenient on a machine with only the one row/scene.

Yes, you can do that. But is mostly an Ableton option itself. Select the clip you want to start/stop. Them, on the bottom left corner there's a little "L" (next to the clip automation). That's the launch box parameters. On the launch mode you change from trigger (default) to toggle. Now, when you launch it, it will play and when you launch again it will stop

Hi Darren, You can save/edit and create your own presets using the MIDI Control Center software, which you can download from Arturia's website. You will need to load these Templates up upon startup of your Minilab.

Question: I got a synth selected (with minilab ableton template), when i use the pad to launch a drum clip, for example, it launchs and the macros are now assigned to that track. So I loose the macros for the synth, having to manually get back at it. There's a way to launch clips in different track but stay assigned for the track you have the record arm on?
