There are a couple of things I'd like to see in a PolyBrute. First would be the ability to route an oscillator directly to the amp without having to go through one of the filters. And, I'd love a third oscillator. I've got Noire now, which I love, and if I had the funds, I'd upgrade to the 12-voices.

Nothing additional is necessary, it’s perfect. 21st century’s flagship, a modern CS-80. It is worth its price. You know what could be good for the masses? If Arturia came up with a midi controller (61 or 88 keys) that has this keybed with FullTouch, but with much lower pricetag of course. That was a hot cake.

Daniel’s harmonic knowledge, melodic sophistication, inventive chord progressions as well as his dynamic and emotional playing makes him the perfect guy to demo these synths and other instruments. Sweetwater should feel lucky they have a musician with a level of musical imagination on the level of some of the great songwriters and composers. And I’m not even exaggerating. His improvisations never fail to give me goosebumps.

It's great to see how someone like Daniel can push a synthesiser to its limits, showing off its true beauty and colours. The harmonics and overtones are so rich producing such authentic timbre every second of the way in real-time that is welcome to anyones ears. I sense that this synthesiser will send synth geeks and musicians away into exploration.

Maybe… it’s not a synth with much of its own character, not to my ears anyway, but seems to do a lot of somewhat usual sounds very well. I think this synth would serve someone well who doesn’t have many synths and just wants one to do a lot.

@@GTChris I hope Arturia or someone else releases a standalone Morph pad just like the one in Poly 12 or better. Would love to pair it with my Hydrasynth + VSTs. (Hydra doesn't come close to these sounds but plenty of softsynths do)
@bojangprodoktschns54286 ай бұрын
@AdamsOlympia: You might want to try the Touche from Expressive E, thats likely the one Arturia tried to copy. It doesn't do the Chaos Pad x/y thing but you can move the whole pad left and right instead, which is a much more controlled motion, especially as you are concentrating on playing with the right at the same time.

Outside of an Oberheim with a modern feature set, or a more affordable Moog poly, THIS is what I’ve been hoping for. The Polybrute is one of, if not the best sounding modern poly (I don’t count the OBX8 in that list because it’s all vintage circuits) and the feature set is second to maybe the Moog One. But for me the 6 voices weren’t enough. Certainly a bargain when compared to the Trigon6 P6 and OB6. But that synth deserved more and it finally has it. This is phenomenal. The only things I would change are hard buttons for the matrix control for added durability, and a full keyboard length ribbon. But that’s just personal presence. The synth needs nothing more. It’s perfect. The end.
@thedarkestrainbow2 ай бұрын
Since posting this we have gotten that more affordable Moog poly in the form of the Muse and that Oberheim with a modern feature set in the form of the Teo5. They are both fantastic synths. Teo5 has the sound and interface but not enough voices or keys for me, and neither has poly AT. The Muse sounds girthy and glorious and has some really fun design and modulation choices, dual filters, and a really fun delay. Great time to shop for a poly!

There is polyphonic aftertouch, combined with what they call FullTouch, which i pretty much equivalent to the Osmose pressure dimension (you get sound from even from very little touch up to the full pressure length).
@Helvanic7 ай бұрын
In comparison, the original PolyBrute has "basic" aftertouch, that they improved via software update to what they call paraphonic aftertouch (aka you can set it up to activate on the last played note only, which is already quite good tbh).

On the other demo page I suggested why hasn't this full touch MPE technology made it into the most obvious gear? A keytar. It's this exactly what it is for to express as if it's a guitar or saxophone etc. No matter how cool it sounds or plays, until you can play it like a guitar you still won't stand out in the crowd. Arturia needs to make a keytar including with the ribbon slider.

a question to dear Mr. Fisher: are these no-talking Demo sets tediously planned and written beforehand, or is it more of a "I sit down and play around" thing? I cannot imagine the latter, and I'd lack the ideas of the first possibility. Kudos, I like!
@sweetwater7 ай бұрын
Hi bernds. I honestly have no idea what I'm going to play until I've heard the first new note of each preset that I've randomly selected. My primary consideration is that each new performance starts in a different key signature. Afterwards, I'll throw out some songs for not being interesting enough, and I might shorten a song if needed. But, much of what I played is in the video. I feel that randomly selecting presets (and then tweaking like crazy) is a fair way to experience a new synth. -_Daniel_
