He was somehow my neighbor. I'm from Bergamo. But I always loved the quasi godliness of this gentleman. Which he was. Michelangeli was not only one of the beacons of the pianism of the 20th century. This is the warmest, most imaginative performance I have heard of the Faschingsschwank, one that reconciles me to this strange but fascinating piece. Richter's performance (on KZbin) left me cold, but this ...it's just beautiful. Thanks for posting it!
