The trumpet that he was using that is **bent** is Dizzy Gillespie's trumpet (or a look alike). The story goes that Dizzy was in travel and his trumpet somehow got bent to that shape. He could have gotten it fixed but decided likewise because it gave it a unique look and sound. Hope this helped : )

The trumpet at the beginning of this video was Dizzy's Schilke S42 that was given to him as a gift from his protege Jon Faddis (Schilke of course was the guy who designed the original Martin Committee trumpet). The original Dizzy bell horn was an early 50's Martin Committee, he actually outfitted his entire trumpet section with Dizzy bell Committee's (Lee Morgan played one on Blue Train).
