I was a US Navy jet pilot way back in late 1960's flying the F-9F Couger, a swept wing transonic (straight down, full throttle) jet that could pull 9 g's with no damage and a roll rate of 720' per second. Aerobatics were a visceral pleasure and air combat maneuvering/dog fights were even better. This pilot is so calm yet totally focused, very precise! I wish we could have seen her wingmen when in formation aerobatics---another thrill in F-9's.

Irina , thank you. I learned a lot from this flight video! As a pilot of 50 years with only one loop under my belt, I could see the G forces in your cheeks and the varying direction of “gravity” in your hair. My Piper J3 wasn’t up to snap rolls, so I learned about two fists on the stick. I didn’t see any dirt drop to the canopy while level inverted so my hat’s off to whoever cleans the floor! Finally, I was focused on your breathing rate and depth. I’m going to watch again and learn more! Thanks. Bill

The way most aerobatic women pilots take high G maneuvers at such calmness and relaxation is really impressive. You see men shouting and do weird expressions during aerobatics and then you see one like svetlana kapanina for example doing it all as if its nothing.

Far less centrifugal flow to the muscle limbs in women bodies. If our limbs were muscular nad bigger, the blood flow to these parts, away from the brain, would be as critical as for men. Douglas Bader was a hero of WWII. Both his legs had been amputated. His blow flow was not centrifugedas much as for the other pilots. It gave him tremendous advantage.

One reason why I would trust a female pilot in the command seat over a male any day. Men can be, well, cocky. Too cavalier, take risks that no woman would ever contemplate. An evolved maternal instinct, I think.

I love aerobatics flying . Russia has a lot of female pilots following Svetlana Kapanina and it's great... It is very difficult to become a pilot in Japan, so I envy Russia, which has a lot of female pilots.
