The idea of blessing or cursing a secular nation state has been heavily promoted by Texas megachurch pastor John Hagee, who has made himself rich selling books off the false doctrine of "dispensationalism", an invention of J.N. Darby & C.I. Scofield. Look up its origins online.

He did not say "The Lord said to Israel". So, no it cannot be translated that way. Language matters because so many false doctrines have been created from the simplest oversight of language usage.

Exactly! I was in Israel this past February 9n a leadership mission. We spent four days seeing the horrors of the massacre. We met with a family, and a father camped outside the Kenessit. Before and after the official trip I visited friends In Natanyah, I Tel Aviv, and Akko. I was honored to meet with ONE * of the released hostages. Their story brought TEARS TO EVERYONE'S eyes. Decades ago my family vacationed during the second Intafata. We were the crazy Americans, and as one paper described us. We let out daughter study at Hebrew University during the hightt of the fighting. Why? Because for the exact reason you're talking about. We are family.
