The native people of Aruba are Arubans! Venezuelans are here are on the island (mostly illegally) due to the refugee crisis. It’s a pity how the island has been changing ever since Venezuela’s exile. Aruba is actually a very multicultural island and according to statistics the population is estimated to be only 3.2% Venezuelan. However, the Venezuelans that have been living on the island prior to the crisis are known to be very cordial and hard working people. As an Aruban I am very disappointed to hear that they treated you badly. I hope this does not change your opinion of the island itself and it’s native people that are always hospitable and appreciative towards the tourists visiting our tiny island.

Thanks for this video. I just came back from there 6/19/22. What I noticed on there roads there were no traffic lights. One of our drivers going to there downtown area explained that they use to have traffic lights but those lights were a European base system which lead to a lot of accidents so they were removed. Our driver said there is only one left in the downtown area. Overall my family and I had a great experience . Definitely going back again. Oh and fyi for those planning on driving, they have a lot of round abouts on there main roads it could get confusing so be careful.

The reason you might not know the difference between arubans and venezuens are because native arubans (the first people that were on the island) actually came from Venezuela. Arubans are actually very nice and we like to make the tourist feel welcomed. We always make sure everyone is safe and we take care of anyone that comes on the island just like they our family. We are also very multicultural! And beaches are not exclusive to the people are staying at the resort. You can go at any beach you want, the only beach that is private is renaissance island like u guys mentioned in the video.

Aruba was a Dutch colony's. In Aruba we speak Dutch, English, Spanish and native language "papiamento". Aruba is an island that lives of tourism! And we all know this so the natives are much much more friendly to all tourists because that's where the income comes from. In Aruba it's all Dutch traffic and the the infrastructure isn't all that well but we do your best. There is Sanicolas I hope you guy's whent there. It was called "chocolate city" back then because the oil refinery is there and lots of engineers out of the other islands like Barbados/ Sint Martin etcetera. So more of the dark people live that side of the Island. The natives are more at the other side of the Island. But overall the Arubians "arubianos" are nice people. And the Latinos as you say Venezuelans they came to Aruba because of the very bad economy in Venezuela sooooo no they aren't that friendly but not all of them are like that. Yes Aruba is very save as you said they will try to take care of you as much as possible because "YOU" tourists are there income! Aruba has a interesting history I wish that tourists would look it up before they visit. Yes it can be expensive! Tip don't always eat out! You can always ask the front desk for local restaurants. You have a mini bar fill it up and make your drink and go to the beach at night!! Lots of people do this. Yes RENT a car if you can drive! Please drive safely!! There are more then just 2 beaches remember it's an island. There are beaches where you can swim and the water is calm but then on the other side of the Island is the rough sea side it's crazy, but beautiful! Remember to relax and enjoy!

Dear Shaunita, Thanks for your review on Aruba. But I would recommend to inform yourself better before giving a review. You’re giving a lot of facts that are not correct. For example: There are more than 60 nationalities living peacefully together. Of which the biggest group of not-Arubans are Colombians, not Venezuelans. But you cannot see or hear the difference. They all look alike. Most of your experiences are based on your BnB, they do not represent Aruba in general. I’ve been living on the island for more than 50 years. I work with tourists and I never heard of places where tourists are not welcome. We live of tourism. Our only income. So how would we not like to earn yanki $’s? If you really experienced this, I tend to believe it’s because of your bad behavior. Maybe you were drunk? Or high? (BTW, I am not a born Arubian)
