When my dog was a puppy we would put a blanket over his crate at night so it would feel more cozy and safe for him....eventually he stopped barking 😁

That also worked for my fur baby. His crate was upgraded to a plush canine man cave that I cover with a blanket. He loves it.

@@joligarcon5970 Not true. Yes, puppies obviously will miss their littermates, but I'm talking about the crate issue. Some dogs feel more secure in a crate. Each dog is different, but sleeping a dog in a crate can have other benefits as well. It's easier to travel with them, and if they need some space on their own they will often retreat to their crate if it's familiar to them. I'm not saying that a dog should be confined to a crate all the time. He should have other places where he can sleep as well. A crate trained dog can also be happier when left home alone, if confined to his crate. It can also prevent your house from being destroyed! 🤪

When we got our puppy, Bindi, my son tied a bell on to the front door handle, and every time we took her out to go potty, we’d ring the bell. Initially, one of us stayed up until 2am and the other woke up at around 4 or 5am to take her out. She learned to ring the bell every time she needed to walk. Fast forward 12 years, my precious girl is completely blind, but still finds her way to the bell if she needs/wants to go out. And btw, Marble is just ADORABLE.

Pups at 8 weeks can not hold it. Every pup I had we took out every 2 hours. It gets better though when they get to 4 hours! Putting in the time in the beginning will be very rewarding! Good luck with your cutie Marble!

Hi Arvin, as a long time doggie mommy, here is a formula that seems to hold true for most dog breeds. Most puppies develop the ability to hold hold their bladder that roughly follows their age in months. At 2 months, two hours is excellent. You will probably notice at three months, he makes it about three hours between needing the potty and will probably be able to go all through the night by 8 or 9 months. So sweet to see you loving on him and telling him what a good boy he is. It's going to be so fun to watch him grow up.

Anytime he starts to chew on something try to just quickly give him a toy!! That way he will just get into the habit right away that toys are for chewing! Hope this helps- our pup is now 2 and I remember going through/learning all of this!! Also remember to enjoy this time with him as a pup!!! They grow so fast!! ❤️

I used to take my puppy at the time outside to pee every 2 hrs, even overnight. It’s tiring at first, but i was determined to train him or else my mom would make me give him up lol. He eventually learned and only went potty outside!☺️

A rough time line for how long they can "hold" their bladder is 2 months = 2 hours. Their bladders are Tiny but will grow and the time they can hold it will get longer !

They can’t hold it in at that age. They can hold it for one hour for every month they are. He’s 2 months old, so it makes sense that he calls for you every 2 hours. What a sweet baby! I’m so jealous 💕

I’m sure you’re not driving with Marble on your lap. Recommend a good car seat so he can be buckled in. In case of accident, God forbid, many dogs will run, if able, totally disappearing.... they need to be secured and safe! The cutest little puppy ever. I dog-sit! Bring her to me, anytime. Marble is adorable 😍 but I would definitely recommend having a blanket with him at all times because he's small and will get cold easily, especially at night have a blanket with his bed so he sleeps the entire night since he'll be cozy and warm and not cold wanting to go potty.

Raising a puppy rn too. We only take him out twice at night , usually around 1 am and 5 -6 am ish. If he barks or cries in between we ignore him and allow him to self soothe. We used to get up and check on him every time he did that and noticed he wouldn’t use the bathroom but just wanted to “play” so it’s working a bit. Depending on the dog and how fast they learn. The key is being consistent with schedules
