while the craftsmanship is great, it failed to copy the needle in GOT. The needle is a much shorter and thinner blade compared to this copy.

I agree. This replica looks too big. And the curved concave on the blade they made looks like a triangle not a four sided star. When they made ICE it didn't look big enough, while this one was too big.

even if it was just an adult sized version, the handle is HUGE, no 1 handed weapon needs a handle that long. its like a bastard sword. and needle was just castle forged steel and not any kind of damascus or valyrian steel

Jones Martins well, the basic idea behind the power hammer is just a hammer, the sanding and grinding wheels are just refinements of what would have been available. it would have looked much like this only longer, think weeks not days.

Guy DeWolfe I think you are talking about Kabutowari and Shibuki. Kabutowari is more "axe-y" but it is called bluntsword and Shibuki is just a sword with explosive tags stuck to it in a weird scroll shape. IDK, in the real world they would not be called swords as they are so odd looking, but hey, Naruto is a great manga because of it's crazy ideas .

Pyramid head's weapon is a knife, a ridiculously big knife. Be the original Pyramid head or the one who appears in homecoming, it's still a knife.

gabriel gutierrez Technically speaking, rapiers are 2" to 2.5" at the base, that taper to a fine point, good for mild slashing as well as piercing. The Needle, however, is it's cousin, called an Epee. It's designed specifically to pierce.

Needle is the top spot of simplicity: it is neat, clean, efficient and doesn't ostentate any "ferocity" on its design, nor is it orned by any kind of fancy work, except the grip, and plus, it is a sword for a kid, that handle could be given to a Metal Maniac to wield it... just saying... the best about Needle: Simple and straight foward, just like Arya.

This wasn't a good replica at all. Needle Isn't a triangular sword like a rondel blade. It's a typical blade with a sharp edge that can be used for slashing as well as thrusting. Remember when Arya slashed the candle in half? If she did that with a triangular sword then she couldn't cut it, she'd just smack it off the table. The replica was too big overall. The real Needle is much smaller, the replica handle was too bulbous and the original pommel didn't have a jewel at the end. I only had to do a couple minutes of research of GoT screenshots to confirm this. Also i wasn't a fan of the arrogance to ad Damascus swirls to the blade because they think it's more interesting. Needle is cool enough on it's own and adding stuff to it isn't a faithful recreation. In my opinion, Damascus swirl patterns on blades looks incredible tacky. Im pretty sure no movie or tv show involving blades/swords ever included those types because they new it looked ugly on camera. These guys didn't do much research on Needle at all. It looks like they just used a single low res photo for reference and winged the rest. None of this would be a problem if the video was titled "Small Sword inspired by Arya's Needle", that way we wouldn't be expecting a 1:1 recreation. But if you're gonna advertise recreating something, then you better deliver on it. Craftsmanship seems incredible but faithfulness is a total failure.

The show actually uses an epee blade for most of the closeup shots, as you can clearly see in this video, but the also have a version with a flat blade which is used in some scenes, such as the candle cutting scene. It's a discontinuity error stemming from a fundemental misunderstanding of sword blades on the part of the prop team. The Man at Arms guys copied the most commonly used, and most historically accurate and effective, version.
