I did 10 years in CDC and 5 years in Nevada. The COs would never just let an inmate possess a knife. They need to stop doing interviews with these old ex cons who tell these outrageous stories that only someone who has never done time would believe. If you done time in the 70s you would know that in some states and prisons cops allowed you a knife or in rare cases in max prison gave you a knife cause they knew dude wouldn't survive without it. I was at hazleton right after they stabbed Jimmy Wilson 22 times. RIP And there was only two weak ass yards one with the handball court or you got the soccer field. Damn railroad police stopped me. I thought the guy was a joke at first. I moved here from NC state and used to walk the tracks everyday. Not here in Pennsylvania your don't. Lol, he was gonna take me to jail for being a smart ass. When he showed his badge and credentials, I knew he was real about it. And ues I love that movie the Irishman. Really good movie. And yes they were all over Pennsylvania back then. That was way before my time tho. I was born in 75 so lol. They were some bad asses back then lol. Some of the rivers and creeks in that neck of the woods still has the weapons they used to kill thrown in those waters. Those magnet fishing guys get them all the time lol. There used to be a place called adult entertainment videos where the prison was. It was about a 1/2 mile or so I guess. I did see some torn clothes in the woods next to that jail. As if some tried to escape at one time or another. Kinda scary if you really think about it lol

Reading the comments and tbey are good but i really would like to add my two cents there is so much to comment on so i will just say the best way to experience life behind the wall is to be a CO you see the whole picture and get a minor idea of what the inmates life is during your eight and sometimes sixteen hour shift then if you make it you go home at the end of your shift. Now stand back and think about that for a moment and think there are people who do that everyday not knowing if they will make it out alive that day to go home after there shift. COs are much tougher than street police there are alot of street cops that wouldn't last in the penitentiary as a CO.

The metal detectors are taken seriously, and EVERY time it goes off the guys are stripped and searched. I worked at Hazelton in West Virginia. It’s called Misery Mountain. The guards do not fuck around there, as some of the most dangerous men who ever lived are housed there. This guy is a liar and a tool trying to get attention. Most of the guys at the top of these gangs, would NEVER sit down and do these things. The guys that do are often second rate, phonies or were rats and turned states evidence.
