freya's mother is the worst I've seen. she clearly thinks of her own daughter as a burden that her in-laws should take care of. so if freeya's on the verge of death and her in-laws ditch her, to whom should freeway go to? also, someone control the behavior of freeya's elder brother. even her uncle and father aren't that harsh as he's shown. the father needs to control him and his wife. farhad's done a decent portrayal to depict his frustrations over the coerced marriage of his parents and how he doesn't desire of the same.
