All I got to say is you guys are awesome. You don’t understand how I look forward to your videos and getting inspired watching them. I appreciate all the advice you guys give us. I’m still learning and looking forward to one day getting as good as all your techs you guys have on all your videos. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to do what you guys do to help us out. You guys are definitely going to be my top brand I will purchase in the future when I become a tech.

Love that you say that ppl aren't always nice. I worked in hospitals and ppl were so sick in ICU they were grateful for the care. It wasn't until I was in private practice/wellness did I see that ppl aren't always nice. Manipulative, lie. I was naive when young and thought everyone was nice. LOL

This was great y’all 👍🏼 Been a Nail Specialist since 95 and I’ve also been an educator and I’ve never heard your term “ your not the nail tech for everyone “ That’s good said like that 👍🏼 I mean, you’ll say you won’t please everyone but I like it said the other way … And then the examples you gave with it were good 👍🏼 Luv y’all products 🤩🤩

I wish I would have not rush going to any school and had got more experience in before going to school. An people don't wanna pay for custom made press ( thinking one dollar) and acrylic set $15-20.. in other words you can't afford me!! It's about education and experience that the customer is paying for!

Love it!!! Full time nail tech of two years and I definitely have a client or two that are the 1% I can’t please. It’s super frustrating but just like you said you’re not the nail tech for everyone. I wish I knew that sooner. ❤️ Advice for another nail techs, don’t try to squeeze an extra service in for a client if you’re booked back to back. Just don’t. If you can, that’s great but usually they want more than what they asked for. Example, client is booked for a gel mani and asks for “polish change on the toes” (no problem right?). THEN they expect a nail trim & file with it once you start the “polish change”. Once again if you have time that’s great, but most of the time I’ve experienced the client expecting more. Good luck to all aspiring Nail Techs!

I didn’t budget, l bought some of the wrong stuff. I would say I can do nails for a year and still have not run out of stuff. I’ll never have to buy Mylar, glitter, foil, etc. you live and learn. I’ll have lots to use up. Then I’ll only buy YN products. I’ve tried DND, Naio, Ibd, etc not bad just not as good.

I gotta say as a beginner learning at home, no school, I was so happy to hear the “There is no such thing as perfect.” I am hard on myself and that saying has helped me so much! It makes me realize that everyone started off somewhere and you are right, I am not going to please everyone.

One thing I only buy what I need and know I would use,and add on as I go depends sales and season as well One thing I wish I knew is that I would have to also make time for my self 😂 sometimes nail techs work without having lunch or lunch always be super late Second wish I knew how bad the back and wrist can hurt 😔 Another one not all client will stay forever sometimes just let them go and don’t feel bad about it

I was really hard on myself when I was first learning to do nails, and naturally you will make mistakes. And took very criticism to heart. It was so hard to get past it. Still I still get really nervous, and never found a way to get around it.

So im finishing my Bachelor's in the fall and I want to become a nail tech/ artist. But as for the circumstances around schooling I will not accept a school that doesn't teach anything but state requirements. Am I going to find a school because I want a real education?
@youngnailsinc3 жыл бұрын
I would reccommed getting on our facebook community and asking there. that way people can give you their advice on schools they went to and you get a lot of input from different experiences

I started my journey on June 10th 2021 and it’s hard to know what pricing should be , I went with £15 and now it’s £35 which is about average to high for my area. I’m training in acrylics next week and am excited but also don’t know if it’s worth buying coloured acrylic just yet or just stick to gel polish over top?

Hey guys... I love young nails and I’m a huge fan of you both! So I’m new to the industry, and something came up recently and I wanted to know how to handle when a customer asked you for a set of nails but refuses for you to use your e-file.

Know your community. What’s your demographic. Are you going after anyone or long term client. When first starting out with a new client, money on the table. Do not take checks you cannot cash. I only took cash until I had the client long enough to know they wouldn’t write me a bad check. I went after women that could afford me. I didn’t take anyone under 25. I wished I’d known it would take me 2 1/2 years to fill my book up 6 months out. The hours that I had to put in. Oh my goodness. I wish I’d had known how hard it is on the body. Eat well, hydrate and exercise. Correct Posture in the chair. Advertising yourself. Business cards in hand where ever you go. Introduce yourself and hand them a card. Give a card to wait/bar staff at restaurants. Volunteer with the salon for community events. I hit the bank, medical/dental office, business offices. I had great mentors that taught me so much. Find a mentor. Don’t be shy.

I only recently saw a post abt how to choose which brand/brands for me... specifically in the colours of gels, this post said, buy a red, back, white, base & top coat... practice & see how you "gel" with that brand, try a good few & then decide which suite you & then go with their full systems... I wish I had known this when I started out in 2019... & I wish I had watched more YT & Insta educational content before deciding on my path fwd. Thank you YN for all that you do to support us Techs... 🙃💅

Yeah I told someone that you should always use the same brand gel and lamp and explained on chemical level why. She said it's not true because alot of people do it 🤣 ok Hun, you go get an allergy reaction then. Alot of people are also killers but.....it's not right 😂
