Here is a new one for you. I received my Aliexpress Pickle yesterday. I took her apart to weight and re-stuff her. I suddenly smelled poop! She was strangely stuffed with cotton in her limbs and head. This cotton however had not been cleaned. There was still leaves from the plant and some fertilizer in it. After I got rid of the stuffing and cleaned her, she was fine.

Okay something WEIRD is going on, Aliexpress dolls are stuffed with manufactured Fiber ( NOT WOOL) or natural cotton! where leaves and feces would be! I think you should return that Doll!

The artists aren’t making it easy to buy authentic dolls these days, and they wonder why people are turning to replicas. I’ve never sold a doll, although I’ve gifted a few to a friend. I’ve got a couple of what I consider to be high end dolls (at least for me) but I didn’t pay high end prices, I just lucked out. Great advice, especially for those just starting out in the hobby.

I have some beautiful dolls that were very expensive. They are almost impossible to sell unless I want to practically GIVE them away and I'm not going to just lose money!!!! I'm keeping them unless I get a reasonable offer! Thanks for mentioning that Julie

I’m actually getting myself ready to make a purchase on eBay for the Ashton Drake “Faith” doll. She looks almost identical to my daughter when she was age 9 months - two years old. It’s used and in need of TLC however it’s beyond worth it to me. It’s almost impossible to find a sculpt that looks similar to my daughter as a baby/toddler. Once I get her, as with any used doll, whether replica or authentic, I disassemble them completely. I wash the cloth body on gentle/delicate cycle in my washer and hang to dry. Then I gently wipe down the vinyl/carefully clean the hair if rooted. If the filling is questionable, I’ll use new filling and occasionally will re-weight or distribute the weight more evenly to my liking and attach the limbs to my preference with the correct zip ties for reborns. If the cloth body is too small I replace it, if too big I’ll alter it with my sewing machine or make a whole new customized body for them, add the elastic gather on chest/bum etc. I’m really looking forward to purchasing this sculpt and bring her back to life. Lately I’ve been enjoying finding “memorial” babies for my children/grandchildren. They’re still very alive and well, they’re just not babies anymore, maybe I’m using the wrong terminology of memorial babies, if so I’m sorry, I don’t mean to offend anyone. Is there a better term for people who are still alive and wanting to find a sculpt that looks like a person as a baby/toddler? Have a very beautiful and blessed day Julie❤

I bought a fbs baby silicone baby girl by Joanna Kazmerciak in 2021. Got her home and she smelled like cigarettes like what happened to you! It tooky months to get the smell out and I've never bonded with that doll. It was only one of 5 ever made and cost me $5000!!!!!!
