Celtic have been complacent for a very long time. when Rangers went bust and got demoted to the bottom tier and Celtic got all the money etc. their was a massive gap between Celtic and Rangers. when Rangers eventually came back into the top tier through promotion and in Brendan Rodgers first spell as Celtic manager he left Rangers in his wake by a record points total of 43 points between us and Rangers and at time celtic had the best opportunity to leave rangers buried forever with our fantastic team under Rodgers. The biggest problem was that sky sports weren't interested in a 1 team league because the gap between Celtic and rangers was soo big. Suddenly peter lawwell decided privately we cant have this gap thats soo big because we aren't making any more money because sky sports weren't interested in our game because it wasn't compete enough for sky sports to promote our game due to a 1 horse race. Peter lawwell started dismantle our team and bringing in less quality player that help Rangers to close that gap and make our league look more compete and get better sponsorship's deals, more money from sky and eventually due to peter lawwell mismanagement Rangers closed that gap and stop us from doing 10 in a row because peter lawwell penny pinching us cost from going from strength to strength and that complacency is still very much alive at Celtic till this day.

Totally agree brother. We were talking about splashing the cash last summer and it never happened, we ended up with more project players. It’s the same this summer. Celtic are gonna break the bank this season blah blah blah. I’ll believe when I see it ☘️

Agree with most of that, other than Rangers were demoted. That didn’t happen, a new club was formed and given direct access into the bottom tier of Scottish football.

@@kevinmckenna7261 ok, i understand what you and Jim are saying Kevin, Nicholson wasn't responsible for our past failures when Celtic could have buried Rangers for life. Back in 2016 -17 Aberdeen were our nearest challenges in the league and Rangers were sitting in fourth place at the time no where near Celtic, until peter lawwell decided that Scottish football could no longer survived financially because sky wasn't interested, we were struggling to get decent sponsorship money and commercial our league was falling apart financial because we were only getting decent money because celtic were controlling it and it was a 1 team league and no competition. Peter lawwell realised that he had stop us by selling our best players and bring in less quality and Rangers as we all know eventually caught up with us due to lawwell actions and decisions which he meant to do because he need better money for the Scottish game as a whole. Nicholson has no power at Celtic peter lawwell will still be pulling all the strings and making sure that gap with Rangers isn't good big again. peter lawwell is only interested in making sure scottish football makes better money all around and he keeps helping doncaster to get better deals. as dave king said a few years ago Scottish football cant afford one team controlling it because business wise its falls apart as sky and other commercial industry lose interested and scottish football loses money.

Kieran Tierney will struggle to find another club to buy him permanently because of his continue injury problems. I have a huge archive of old Celtic games, interviews, news reports and documentaries. Probably 300-400 VHS tapes full of all that stuff. The time Jackie was doorstepped by (I think) Jim White, who had a birthday cake for him has gone down in folklore. He didn’t answer the door and ended up accepting the cake further up the road and quite a few minutes later. I’ll need to dig out that clip. Why the delay? I wouldn’t like to speculate.

I’d definitely sign Idah assuming he wants to come. If not we need to sign a better striker than him as well as a replacement for Oh. I’d suggest getting a better first choice striker than Kyogo and Idah, 2 keepers, 2 left backs, at least 3 midfielders and a high quality winger. I’d suggest at least 15 players should be heading out including Taylor, Bain and Kuhn. Anyone else who fancies a move get rid of them.
