I feel like the whole song is kinda written to be sad and slow and then the end, where it picks up, is like coming to terms with a situation you're in and realising it can't change, but maybe it doesn't have to idk, that's my interpretation, but hey, music's whatever you want it to be, right?

That's a really gold interpretation I think when he sing: 'i'm starting to see my oceans were lakes' it means that even something so deep and bad like an ocean can just be something little. Maybe it's about a depression and the worst thoughts you've got and when you begin to see it from another point and you can fight against because is not so big as it seems...
