Watch the video. 15 BCM is only a small part of the total gas consumption in the EU. It could only cause a very temporary spike at this point anymore I believe. Also, if I see the amount of newly-built highly energy efficient housing in my country, I think gas use will also keep dropping year on year ... . Calling Europe a "looser" because we switched gas suppliers makes no sense and is incredibly short-sighted.

It's not stopped, but the deal has ended, and no new contract will be signed. This has been known since the deal was signed and clarified since the escalation of the Ukraine war. If Germany, Slovakia, or any other nation was invaded, would you, as a nation, be happy with giving billions to support your enemy that has invaded you? @@thegreatdane3627 Russian exports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) increased by 3% in 2024 and exceeded 32 million tons, with about half going to Europe, the Reuters news agency quoted LSEG data. In total, the EU countries purchased about 16 million tons, or 50% of the total volume of Russian exports. Another 7 million tons were imported by China. In Europe, Russian LNG exports this year went mainly to France, which imported more than 5.6 million tons of LNG. It is followed by Belgium and Spain. In 2024, Novatek's Yamal LNG plant increased gas exports by 5.4% to 19.6 million tons. At the same time, the Arctic LNG 2 project, which is under US sanctions, has shipped six shipments of gas since the start of exports in August. Russia will continue to increase LNG production in order not to depend on transit countries.

Apart from the land they have now taken, they have also greatly expanded the Chinese led BRICS and taken down The USA hegemony by providing alternatives to SWIFT and the Petro dollar . This has provided many USA dominated countries the freedom to break free from the weaponised dollar. for too long the USA has promoted coups against elected governments they did not like just like they did in 2014 Ukraine. As a whole, this accounts for an energy mix of 3% of the EU being impacted. This is not huge enough to cause panic across the Eurozone, but those countries on the border where this has an outsized impact will see considerable inflation while loss of productivity. Germany continues to collapse their productivity & competitiveness because of energy costs. Simply importing American LNG at 3x the price, as just arrived in Ukraine, is not an answer. Furthermore, the preperation for the harsh winter currently being experienced in Europe is poor given the levels we have already seen depleted so far.

They don’t have trillions of euros lying around to spend on a new pipeline. They can’t just make money out of thin air. Most of their gas supply relies on Russian transport, and let’s be honest, these countries are generally friendly toward Russia-they don’t view Russia as the enemy. So when the gas stops flowing, expect prices to spike in these countries. And don’t be surprised if Ukraine’s EU membership goes up in smoke. The alternative is three times more expensive-yes, three times! Not just one or two times, but three times more expensive. That’s catastrophic for these countries, especially Slovakia. Hungary and Slovenia might manage, but Slovakia might really suffer. Gas prices will skyrocket, and it's not just a minor inconvenience-it’s an economic disaster. Seriously, not every country is the United States, where they can just whip up solutions out of thin air, wrapped in some magical economic bubble. Get out of your bubble and face reality."

@@Ubesoft-vc5te I noticed that while you explained the challenges Slovakia, Hungary, and Slovenia face, you didn’t propose any concrete solutions to the problem. The reality is that no country under attack would continue relying on critical infrastructure controlled by its aggressor-it’s a matter of national security. Expecting Ukraine to allow enemy pipelines to operate on its territory during a war is absurd. But the most important in my opinion, if someone dismisses the suffering and loss of life in Ukraine, why should Ukraine prioritize the economic concerns of countries that are unwilling to address their dependency on Russian gas? It’s not just about gas prices-it’s about standing against aggression and ensuring long-term energy security, even if the initial steps are costly. Solutions may be expensive, but ignoring the problem or maintaining dependence on an aggressor is far more damaging in the long run.

DW Germany crowned themselves decades long as exportweltmeister! This was possible because of long-term low energy prices for the mittelstand. It was not dependency it was vision to stay ahead of competition. Now Germany is facing a downward spiral because of lost control!

Imagine that while they were doing it they also got money from transit , gas from the pipe and the gas infrastructure was safe as untargetable . Modern wars are indeed special .

Yes, but the maintenance of these pipelines that transported Russian gas through Ukraine to Europe also costs money. It's not just pipes, but also many pumping stations that have to create the pressure. Yes, of course Ukraine got money from Russia (Gazprom) for this, but the fact that many people think that Ukraine made a lot of money from this is nonsense.

EU loses big and its Economy at stake , despite all the aid Ukraine still losing so what is the logic? And the loss will be much higher than what could have given to Russia to prevent the war before it started.. More land and more funds and more lives could have been saved. But ofcourse there is a winner here and thats why this war began and still is going on and must go on for the US must keep wining no matter who loses what and how much !

This has absolutely nothing to do with the war. 1) The unelected "EU commissioner" Ursula von der Leyer, has been saying publicly and openly even before the war, that "The EU must be "independent" of (cheap) Russian gas. Why? 2) Again before the war, the offices of Gazprom were time and again raided by German police, supposedly to "investigate". They were not investigating a single thing, they were simply trying to terrorize the company. Why? 3) Again before the war, the European "union" was demanding from Gazprom to re-negotiate the terms of already signed contracts. Why? 4) Again before the war, the European "union" was demanding from Gazprom to implement the "Third energy pack", which would involve things right from the outset unacceptable like transferring control of Russia's very own gas system, to the EU. Why? 5) Right now immediately after "Ukraine announced" that the gas deal had not been renewed, the response from the European "Union" was, "Don't worry, we are prepared, WE KNEW IT". Where did they know it from? Finally, do I even need to say anything about the completely non-existent investigation about who attacked North Stream 1 and 2? To conclude. Ukraine had absolutely nothing to do with this. Ukraine simply did as it was told by its american masters, turn off the tap, make Europeans completely dependent on infinitely more expensive American LNG, all not only in knowledge but in fact with the active co-operation of European politicians.
