Juliane Moore was the only actress here who gave As The World Turns credit for her later successes. She even did a cameo when ATWT went off the air in 2010. Those other two actresses never acknowledged ATWT for giving them their early sucess.

A P&G show with a non-P&G sponsor. Young and the Restless in the 80s used to have P&G sponsorship despite being a product of COlumbia PIctures AKA Sony

On the flipside of that, Columbia didn’t mind advertising its movies on P&G shows. I found a TV spot for *The New Adventures of Pippi Longstocking* on a block of commercials that aired on this show around this time on someone else’s KZbin channel.

There were a lot of Nabisco ads thrown into this show (in those days, Planters was owned by Nabisco). Nabisco and Procter & Gamble must have had a relationship at the time. But if there had been a Honey Maid ad thrown into this show, it would have made sense to show Honey Maid graham crackers being used to make s'mores with a marshmallow being toasted over a candle. I know they have shown how to toast marshmallows in the oven, but a candle is more of an allusion to P&G's roots as a soap and candle company. That relationship Procter & Gamble and Nabisco had would have been a time to bring back the Star candles and have them in supermarket impulse zones alongside Honey Maid graham crackers, Hershey's chocolate bars, and Jet-Puffed Marshmallows.
