One thing that disappointed me is that James was never in these openings when he was involved in a story. I guess it's because when they started doing these openings, he was a reoccurring character and they only put contract characters in the openings. The actor who played James is now dead, so are the actors who played Nancy and Hal. They were all good actors on a good soap.

The opening that As the world turns had in 2007 and in 2010 I hated those openings the best opening they had was from 1981 to 1993 with the spotlight of beams coming out from it and liked it very much !!!

When CBS replaced As The World Turns, and The Guiding Light it was awful. Procter & Gamble went to TeleNext, it meant TeleDeath. Shame on CBS, and Procter, & Gamble. The Talk is abhorred, and game shows are cheap to produce, and are brainless. Same as prime time (so called) , reality shows.

Honestly, I cannot blame CBS for the cancellations of both P&G soaps, as P&G made it clear they wanted OUT of the soap business. Even CBS tried getting other companies to take the soaps over, and P&G refused. If they didn't own the soap, they wanted it gone.

@@DegrassiInstantStar They eventually lost money and the audience declined to a server point that it was not feasible to keep them going. The millennials were not as interested as previous generations and that is why GL and ATWT finally came to an end. The remaining daytime dramas are on browed time.

How it was Agnes Nixon who pioneered the incorporating socially relevant issues into the storylines on the soaps. Had P&G let CBS buy ATWT (and GL), those shows would probably still be on. Much like had P&G allowed NBC to buy AW (and SFT), and ABC buy EON, those shows would probably still be on too.

Exactly! Proctor & Gamble should have sold the rights to CBS. At the time our soaps were cancelled, the ratings were higher than the four soaps still on the air, which by the way aren't very good. And the shows that replaced our soaps are simply horrible!

the music to this opening sounds like a toilet flushing if u take ur laptop to the bathroom an/or restroom you will sopt the similarities too the all so familiar sound!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
