it gives up some range for stealth. it shoots 9x39 ammo which is sub sonic (meaning it doesnt break the sound barrior and isnt very loud, and it has an intragrated suppressor in the barrel. 9x39 is pretty much just a 7.62x39 shell but with the bullet from a 9mm. it is a heavy hitting slow moving bullet.
