8:00 so the idea around the audio being from angels started with a channel called Symmetric Vision who would use audiovisual art to describe and show what a trip on certain hallucinative drugs were like. These videos were then analyzed and many people saw the similarities to what this man saw, and the biblically accurate depiction of angels. Then a viral video was released called "Seraphim Simulator" which took the video and audio and put in a description saying that the video was an accurate depiction of angels... through hearsay and people spreading the video with no context, it eventually made its way onto tiktok where people actually genuinely believed the audio was from angels.

I remember seeing those drug trip visuals on a DMT Simulation video and being pleasantly surprised to see how great the quality of that original is. Then seeing the 240p of the rip and being disappointed lol.

It’s so nice seeing you cover this album! The track “movie never made” off the album has a pretty niche live version that is incredibly wonderful and 10 minutes long, I think you’d dig it!

I remember when I found this album, I was in a weird place in my mind and was in a real bad funk, the type where no one can really get you out of your head. I heard 13 angels before anything and cried a lil because it felt like I had comfort yet was so alone. It got me interested in the whole album where I really had to take time process. Broken chords was what got me fascinated to stay for the whole album, and for wanda is what really left me a bit of a mess. Even tho I never really experienced the loss of a pet it still struck a chord in me, a primal one that not many things can do. All in all I'm glad you made a video on this banger album, I'm glad I can finally be part of the early conversation on this piece of art.

13 Angels came on in a Pandora playlist I had for Explosions in the Sky in high school and I was just transfixed. At first I wanted to skip it but ran out of skips and just had to sit there and let it wash over me. It started as discomfort and then just grew from there. It was a quiet winter day, and the snow was iced over and covered in dirt. I felt like I was the last person left in the whole world, yet content with it.

Fucking great video. I haven’t heard the album but this encouraged me. Also I never knew that song was the tik tok sound (it’s also a sample on the injury reserve album which is where I hear it mostly.) also since you told me to leave some recs in the comments I will do so. Giles Corey S/T: a side project from the lead singer of Have a Nice Life. Think of Deathcon but more folk. I like it more than Deathcon tbh. Hospice by The Antlers: a heart breaking album about a hospice worker falling in love with a patient there at the hospital. I won’t spoil the story but it’s a great listen. Icedancer by Bladee: suffer. I hope you enjoy these albums if you do end up listening to them. Anyways great video as always man.

Have you ever considered making a video on the musician/animator/filmmaker legend Jack Stauber. I just love his work so much and feel it is very unique. He creates short music videos on youtube that dabble in horror, surrealism and ALWAYS stunning animation of all sorts. The Jack Stauber rabbit hole is SO worth going down. You might recognize a handfull of his songs from tiktok but do not let it leave a bad taste in your mouth for his work. Jack Stuaber as of now has under his belt four official albums, six EP's, one hundred and seventeen extremely short music videos, and two ten minute musical films. PLEASE check his work out.

Just recently came upon your channel and am so impressed with the level of research you do pertaining to these albums. It honestly is something if I was born maybe a few years before would have started doing too. I’m fascinated with how music can change people or can tell a story by a few notes. Seeing it change and evolve to the listeners mind is spectacular and how the creator’s life can be portrayed ever so slightly in their own music. Brother, I’m so very glad to have found your channel and look forward to your future deep dives in music, especially the heavy stuff. Take care of yourself!

Finally I was waiting for this! On the other side of this godspeed side-project is maybe Set Fire to Flames but I don't know if you'll ever review it because of how overwhelmingly empty and minimalistic is, but on the other side I think this is better than Godspeed, Godspeed is a bit repetitive but that doesn't mean that I hate it. Thanks!

Yeah, when things end up on Tik-Tok, they become something else entirely and usually miss the point of the original creation. Then they become memes. On a positive note, very nice and detailed analysis. This album is up there with the Caretaker, both existential albums.

My suggestion would be Nowhere at the Millennium of Space. It’s obviously one of the EATEOT inspired albums, but the type of music used really helps set it apart. The ending alone is more than worth than the 6.5 hour runtime.

hey man, thanks for all you do. I've committed to listening to the Disintegration Loops tomorrow, the 20th anniversary of 9/11, because of your video on them. Just dropping this comment after you said to leave suggestions in the comments lol - it'd be cool if you could check out The Carebear's Everywhere in the Beginning of Nowhere album, if you feel like diving back into a multi-hour dementia-inspired hell world. Allegedly the album is supposed to be about a patient going through 7 stages of dementia feeling hopeless and crying out as opposed to being in denial the whole time. The creator is supposedly 14. Alternatively, look into Nowhere at the Millennium of Space, which is another Caretaker-inspired fan project, just one I know significantly less about. Thanks again and keep up the good work :) you're quickly becoming one of my favorite youtubers and my friends are concerned about me diving into experimental noise music (my eternal purgatory is definitely gonna be slowly losing myself to Mer de Revs) and working stage by stage through EATOT. Anyway, sleep well tonight.
