Malacca is a food heaven. the food is spicy. but the people are friendly. you can ask the local rickshaw rider for recommendation. at evening and night walking in city center also nice. for asam pedas maybe try asam pedas tetel. instead of fish they use beef from the belly of the cow

Wow..you can really take spicy food and can finish it all..happy that you like asam pedas..and you are correct, we malaysian usually will mix everything and eat it..and if i can guide you a little bit betteron the pronounciation, try this...'are some per dusk' (silent the 'k' in word dusk)..say it a bit fast n you will say it perfectly..😄

Asam.pedas has so many variation in Malaysia so as in Indonesia.IN malaysia herself we have Asam.pedas Johor, Asam pedas Melaka, asam pedas Sarawak n asam pedas Nyonya.It of the asam pedas has it own taste but the common main ingredient are almost the same .That re dried chillies, shallot n garlic, shrimp paste and tamarind or *asam keping* thats sour dried local fruit.

Solo easy way to eat the stingray meat is to scrape it off the cartilage. Mix the meat some sauce and a pinch of the salted egg and pop it in. That way you neednt puck the cartilage(soft bones) from yr mouth. Hope this helps.

actually stingray bone are cartilage or soft bone. also can be found in shark. some fish are a bit expensive as people put a premium on it. for me even cheaper fish taste good. leave me with more money to buy more food 🤣🤣

It’s a shark basically. You eat them whole, inc bones too. That duck egg is salted egg, eat them with the rice or it’ll be too salty.

I prefer to eat on paper or glass plate, but not plastic plate because that plastic can't be recycle. I wish restaurant in Malaysia use a glass plates like TEN YEARS before; Anyway Asam Pedas is my favorite food too.

There are many restaurants selling Assam Pedas in Malacca. Each restaurant has different level of Assam Pedas spiciness level. You can watch a video from Japanese youtuber NobuShunPoko where they went to an Assam pedas restaurant that serve Assam Pedas that suit their Japanese palate. Since Japanese are well known not able to tolerate spicy food.
