ASAP Mega Tree Assembly 2021

In this behind-the-scenes video, I will share my thoughts and applications for a pixel mega tree using the ASAP assembly. Please note this is how I assemble my mega tree and you must do your own research for what is best and safest for your application.

Ron, how many pixels per strand, base diameter, and why all the extra wire length for run to pixels (coiled). Thanks for all the help you give the new guys.

I currently have 100 nodes per strand but will change to 200 per next year to make it 1" spacing. The base ring diameter is 8'. The reason for the excess extension is because I was a noob in 2016 and thought I needed it.

Great job and explanation Ron. I use this and like you have used it for years. I might need to reduce the spacing of mine between the strips. What is your spacing by chance?

Thanks, Steve! The pixel spacing is 2" and the base spacing is 4".

Hey Ron, for your poles on either side of the mega tree, how did you set those up?

How much of your overall setup time is spent on the mega tree?

Probably six hours. Hammering in the rebar takes some time.

Ron, how tall is the tree with these specs? You said you were using dual stage asap build. Is the dual stage necessary?

I will be using 24x100 next year and curious if the dual stage is necessary

The tree is 16.5 feet from the first pixel to the last. The base ring is 1 foot above the ground. The topper is at 20 feet. The two stage is necessary for the Monkhouse assembly I have. In 7 seasons my tree has never fallen.
