This is a really interesting technology and looks like it has been around for a while now so can show the longevity of the courts. What is holding it back from being more widely adopted? It obviously has loads of benefits over a traditional sports hall floor but is the perception that the benefits do not justify the premium in cost? Do you have a typical cost comparison between different sport hall floors?

Hi, thanks a lot for your comment! Good things come to those who wait. It takes time for people to realise that you can actually play on glass at a professional level with all the necessary physical properties. But now, during the FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup, the world has seen that it is possible. The initial costs may be higher, but the maintenance and cleaning costs are lower. Also, especially the multi-purpose use is of course an advantage in terms of costs, because you can increase the utilisation of halls.

@@ASBGlassFloor so do you have a cost comparison showing the theoretical point where the ASB floor with its ongoing savings and increased utilisation balances out the increased upfront costs?
@ASBGlassFloor Жыл бұрын
@@PSNvjimmy Yes we do have that. That point will be reached after about 15 years (data from 2021). We are currently trying to update those numbers, as prices increased in general (especially for wodden floors).
