My Hot take: Black ops campaigns are way better than modern warfare campaigns (besides bo3) Im not saying modern warfare campaigns are bad (Besides mw3 2023) i simply really appreciate the real life historical events that happen during the campaign. Yes the story is fictionalised but what youre playing through actually happened and its like taking a history class but in a video game! Treyarch are the best COD Developers. Personally i believe bo2 is the best campaign for many reasons and bo1 to me is #2

People were mostly tired of advanced movement systems. They complained a lot about the Titanfall gameplay style. Which is a shame because it increased the skill cap by miles. But the casual CoD player doesn't want to learn but instead wants a free nuke after every successful kill...

@@AscendAR dude call of duty doesn't have fast time to kills, world at war had some fast time to kills in the core modes, which is why on older cods like cod 4 and world at war Hardcore are the only populated servers left, also you said slightly lower time to kill on ghosts, dude as i've said the faster time to kill is what most Old cod players hated, that's why ghosts was loved, then again there is a reason i played ghosts competitively and nothing else

Mw2019 is a mid to lower tier cod at best. Warzone hype made people see it better than it actually is. Without warzone, almost no one would be saying anything positive about it. The only great thing it brought back was toxic game chats

I don’t understand the hate for MW2019 it was a breath of fresh air after the run from ghosts to black ops 4. The campaign was great, the multiplayer was fun as hell most fun I’d had since BO2. The movement was great, made a skill gap. Sniping felt good, gunsmith was and is good, even though it’s bloated now. Spec ops was dogshit tho. Don’t understand why it gets such a bad name.

My hot take: No matter how good a COD game is now (post MW2019), it’ll never be as good as the old cods due to the way we all play it. The campaign can’t just be a simple and fun campaign anymore like MW1 or WAW. Instead it now has to be a big blockbuster over the top story with twists and scripted events. The multiplayer will be sweaty and hard to play due to the way the cod community plays the game, where it’s all about metas and movement exploits, rather then just having fun with silly class loadouts. Zombies is now primarily focused on Easter eggs. Simple survival like what we did on WAW + BO1, is no longer how the cod community plays zombies. I know some people will say that all this shows cods now a better game. But for a casual player. It’s not as good as it once was and I don’t think it’ll ever get better then the golden years

I agree with the fact that snipers are designed for, well sniping, but COD is a fast paced game, with smaller maps. Where as Battlefield is fair, as battlefield has big maps, large players per match and generally slower gameplay.

Hey man, thanks for the feature! I understand that you don’t agree with my hot take which is alright. I mainly think this because ww2 had a good campaign however not top three, a good multiplayer but not top three and a good zombies but not top three. I think you get the point. While I love bo1 and think it’s the best pre bo2 game, I think it has some flaws. The campaign is my second favorite of all time and is great and I think a lot of people agree with me there, but the mp isn’t really great for me in retrospect. I think the maps were awesome but lack of new features like scorestreaks and more importantly, pick ten, combined with not so great weapon balancing does make the multiplayer a bit outdated imo. And for zombies, I get that it was probably the most important after waw but it’s just not really my cup of tea, I prefer more complex maps and doing easter eggs (the bo1 music was great btw). As for the rest of the cods, it’s mainly I’m mostly a zombies guy and while I enjoy multiplayer and play the campaigns, zombies is most important for me so the old mw trilogy didn’t have zombies and while waw has it, it wasn’t great. Now I wasn’t around in 2007-2011 to play cod which does explain why my opinions about those games are different than someone like you who has played these games in their prime. Well this turned out to be a whole essay about a 10 word hot take, enjoy your day!

I also have a couple of takes Too Much Focus on Realism. The push for hyper-realistic graphics and settings detracts from the fun, arcade-style gameplay that made early Call of Duty games great. The emphasis on Call of Duty as an esport is overblown. It doesn't have the depth or strategic complexity of other competitive titles like Counter-Strike or League of Legends.

That's ironic because Call of Duty was intended to replicate the experience of being a soldier, and the newer games are much more "arcade style" than the old cods. I think the biggest divide between newer and younger players is actually that the shift to arcade style - hyper-customization, crazy advanced movements, and ridiculous storylines. I much prefer the older cods movement, consistent thematic focus compared to the fast-paced sliding around with plasma looking camos. Feels like an entirely different franchise that kicked off around BO2... But again, just my opinion.

Hey there! I got a video proposition, quite ambitious, I really like your content and I don't think anyone has done it before. How about making a video about every MP map that has been remade or took asset from other modes and games? There's tons of cool stuff you can find especially in the old games like Pipeline from COD 4 being somewhat in COD 1 and COD 2, Chinatown being Carentan, Wasteland being a map from COD 2, tons of maps being parts of campaign missions or later zombie maps etc. I think it has a lot of potential, but I'm not sure how popular this idea is.

I don’t agree that BO3 is a bottom 3 COD simply because the zombies maps are incredible and there are some good mechanics in the MP. But I do think it’s overrated. The microtransactions leave a sour taste in my mouth. I just can’t support a game that so shamelessly wants you to pay for loot chests, gobblegums, all after paying full price for the game itself. It’s not like Warthunder which is a free game but incentivizes you to pay to level faster. I also hate the weapon designs in BO3 and 4. The sound design is horrible, all the weapons feel very samey, and in zombies the PAP effects are very boring. Bottom 3 COD? No. Vanguard, MW3, MW2 are all easily worse, I’d put AW under it as well, probably Ghosts, Cold War. But BO3 is heavily carried by the zombies for me

Here's some of my hot takes: Storm and Standoff are the two greatest MP maps in Cod history BOCW Zombies would be considered the GOAT Zombies if it had the BO1/BO3 maps Nuketown has always been a bad map for anything outside of party modes and private matches. My hot take. Bo4 zombies > bo3 zombies. Not saying bo3 is bad, I love bo3 if anything. But good Lord is it overrated. Everyone and their mother sucks the hell outta bo3. Gorod just feels like a giant narrow map to me, zets is just obnoxious to set up in, can't stand shadow's Easter egg etc. Prestiging in bo4 zombies feels more satisfying, the maps are hella underrated and fun. IX is a near perfect map, ancient evil is amazing, classified is a ridiculously fun reimagined map, DOTN is stupid underrated etc. And the specialists weapons are one of the most fun and coolest things to be put in zombies in my opinion.

@Saltyaf38 I don't think he was wrong, but he's praising the game for everything the past games did prior. BO3 had amazing specialist weapons, but only half of the ones in BO4 are actually viable. IX and Ancient Evil are fun because they're the only maps designed around BO4s gameplay design, and flow much better than the other 6 maps. DOTN is just not a fun map all. He says Gorod is narrow... so is BOTD, Classified and Voyage of Despair, except the zombie AI is more aggressive in those maps. Zetsubou is tedious? That's literally almost all the maps in BO4. Shadows EE is tedious? He's obviously never done BOTD, Alpha Omega or Tags easter egg. Or literally any easter egg in that game

Finally someone said it about snipers. People just hate dying in one shot that's where the problem is. But they just fail to recognize the risk we take when using such weapons. "SMG also requires same amount of aiming skill" no it doesn't. Because if it does, there wouldn't be a hipfire build, there wouldn't be an akimbo or tac stance build. You aim at somebody to shoot them. No shit Sherlock, it's the trade-off that matters. You could miss 5-10 shots and still get a kill with an smg, that's why a tac stance/hipfire build is viable, I'd like to see that being recreated on a sniper. Hell, even ARs and LMGs fair better when it comes to just spary-and-pray tactics, which is a luxury snipers can't have. I use a weapon that has slower mobility than most of the weapons and is extremely punishing when missing shots, of fuckin course I deserve to be killing in one shot Edit: Makes even more sense now that it came from a shotgun user. Tryna downplay shotguns by saying they both only need one shot but shotguns require you to get close. Not realizing the key difference here is that with shotguns, you don't miss. If it demands you to hit all 8 pellets to kill then yeah it might be more skill-demanding than snipers but no, you fire 7-10 shots at once and only 1-4 of them shots need to hit in order to kill, you're essentially exchanging range for consistency. Or let me put it this way, if a having longer range but only one shot per trigger pull makes it better, you'd be using slug rounds, and slug builds would be meta builds, and the ksg from bo2 would be the most meta shotgun ever. But you wouldn't do that unless you're challenging yourself, and there's never been a cod game where a slug shotgun is the best shotgun. If you see what I mean you'd know that's why it's the dumbest take about snipers

The gunsmith system is better than the Pick 10 system. It allows for more variety and creativity in fun creation. For example, making the M4A1 or AK47 into an SMG in MW2019. However, we shouldn't have the same weapon variety as MWII 2022, where you had a variant of a gun in each category, because it ruins that experience, but Aftermarket Parts should make a return. I wanna read each and every comment for people's opinions on this and I will try to reply to as much as I can.

I think my biggest unpopular opinion would be that Black Ops 2 and 3's Zombies are way too overrated. I say this because I'm all for casual zombie players and hate having to do an easter egg 100 times just to get the wonder weapon of the map. Whereas in BO1 and WAW, you had to get it out of the box. I feel like building the wonder weapons killed the hype for the use of those wonder weapons. Whereas back in Nacht in 2008, you got the Ray Gun and you were like "HOLY CRAP! RAY GUUUN!!!" And also building them just makes the games drag on for way too long till you get bored. Which is why I hate maps like Origins, Shadows of Evil, Der Eisendrache etc. I just don't find them fun lol

IMO bo2 is at best 4th best behind mw2, bo1, and mw3, and at worst 6th with cod4 and waw in front. Don’t get me wrong bo2 was fantastic (4th best cod is still great, especially with competition like mw2 and bo1) I loved the game, but I really didn’t see as much of what made that game special as I did with the 3 games before it, and especially not as much as everyone else saw. Also bo1 has the best zombies but I don’t think that’s too big of a hot take especially with maps like kino and ascension

My Hot Take is AW had a fairly Fun Set of weapons to pick from,Sure you had Meta Gamers who hoarded Insanity's and Hole Punchers, but Experimental Weapon concepts were fun and a fresh change of pace from "here's a Full Auto AR that shoots SLIGHTLY slower than the one you were using",then it was "Heres this Sniper Rifle that shoots Explosives,oh but you got to Prime the explosive first" or "LMG that can Split it's Bullets into a shotgun Pattern" BO3,IW(and even WW2) did this too and i appreciate it, but my love for gimmicky guns was Rooted in AW.

COD WW2 is definitely a fun cod that was worth playing and messing around in multiplayer wise. Still my favourite of the modern CODs. Comes closest to that original MW3/BO1 feel by a landslide. Couple of OP guns, bunch of fun (OG) perks to mess around with, mostly 3 lane maps with power points, MW2 like great but not perfect hit detection, way less strict SBMM and some goofy modes to just have fun in. But to say it's better than the golden age of cod is criminal.

Ehm... a lot of hot takes hasn't really been all that hot, For example: Yes OG CoDs did not stood a test of time, if OG MW2 would be remastered (not remade) today, nobody gonna play it outside of OG CoDs fans cos newer CoDs feels better, looks better and have more content. Modern CoDs has made A LOT of things right, movement, transition dead silence from perk to a field upgrade cos this perk is just broken and it always was broken. Here is TRULY hot take, MW2 (2022) has made A TONS of correct decisions, is it a good game? I have seen better, but they has made a lot of right decisions nonetheless for example: a) removal of red dots, look at MW3 everyone is rocking a supressor making minimap pretty much useless, gunsmith allow people to just hide from radar imposing little to no penalties, that makes any muzzle attachment that is not supressor pretty much useless. b) putting Dead Silence as a field upgrade, once again look at MW3, EVERYONE is rocking covert sneakers, why? cos there is no boots that can provide anything comparable, the only way SG has been able to kinda solve this issue is by reducing footstep audio globally, by putting dead silence in field upgrade category IW expanded perk variety and since Dead Silence is now temporary other field upgrades have a chance to shine as well. c) I personally find IW map design better, cos I am kinda tired of 3 lane maps they are all different but somehow the same, you learn one, you learn them all. d) low TTK in combination with map complexity added another skill layer by requiring people to have better map understanding, and actually thinking before they do something as the game do not forgive you for making mistakes.

They already are releasing the new "games" as DLC because of the Launch platform. - I also think that they need to give Infinite Warfare Zombies 2 a chance. My personal hot take: Bo3 is the most overrated COD game released. Campaign needs no explanation, and the multiplayer is okay. I don't remember enjoying it as much as others. Zombies in my opinion is a C-tier experience. As a console player (understandably) why should I care about custom maps on pc. Secondly, the majority of the maps are from previous titles. I do enjoy DE and Shadows is a top 5 map of all time, but Gorod Krovi and Zetsubo are mid at best (I think they're trash personally). Friends keep in mind of the definition of overrated before you all come at me.

People don’t realize just how broken that multiplayer was, if a multiplayer like MW2 came in a newer cod with better graphics it would be boycotted and people complained about 90% of the maps, Everyone remembers rust for a reason. My hot take is that I don’t care about slower movement. Without exo suits, CoD isn’t a very good movement shooter. In those games, you could wall run and float, but now “Oh boy I can’t wait to slide over and over!” I also don’t like when me and an enemy sprint past each other and take 5 seconds to realize before finally shooting. If you hit me with the camper argument, I’m sorry, I think you’re just bad. I will concede that the MW19 maps were mostly awful, but the camping issue isn’t nearly as bad in the newer games, despite slower movement. Call of Duty Modern warfare 3 (2011) is the best ending to the OG Modern Warfare trilogy. Multiplayer is pretty great on plutonium. Spec Ops was a step up from og mw2

Nah the Mw2 being super overrated is so true, I never played it back in the day and playing it now is super boring, the sniping is the main part, as almost every lobby you manage to find has these “Sweaty” snipers hitting the most unfair shots (Not even fully aiming in and hitting me across the map every time) which i dont understand (however it is worse in the og mw3), and/or campers with Underbarrel grenade launchers sitting in a building. I have yet to find a lobby that is enjoyable. The campaign is great, but i never felt it hit the spot, expecially the fact that ghost was in like 5/6 missions before he died, and the ending wasnt all too satisfying. I cannot argue about how significant mw2 impacted COD as a whole, but the game itself is not that good.

Honestly bo3 campaign is not bad if you understand it. They made a lot of hints that explained the ending. I hate when people say that all of it didn't make any sense because except for the last mission all the others are quite literally linear plotwise. The train go boom quote is from a merkmuaic video where he played the campaign coop and didn't shut up during cutscenes. Infinite Warfare is the most replayable CoD of all time. It has dozens of weapons with unique abilities that have never been seen in any other CoD game, making it the most fun game ever to mess around with weird set ups. Advanced movement and pick 10 allowed you to get even wackier.

I have to agree that at least story wise, Cold War is way better than Black Ops 1. Black Ops 1 has levels that aren't really too memorable in comparison to Cold War. Storywise, BO 1 is interesting and character wise as well, mission design left a lot to be desired especially when BO 2 came out and almost every level was memorable and great.
