She doesn't need awakening for regular content but if you plan on doing abyss or labyrinth it is very helpful. She has 4 available trick arrows that are fired during her special 1 and special 2 and apply different effects that each stack up to a maximum of two. 1-passive cold snap 2-passive tranquilize 3-passive caltrops 4-fragility & passive sunder She can select what arrow she wants to start the fight with in the pre-fight screen and she can swap arrows mid fight in the aforementioned order by double tapping block. If no arrow is selected in the pre-fight menu, she starts with cold snap loaded and it automatically switches to the next arrow after firing one during her special 1 or 2. Every time a trick arrows effect is applied for the first time, she gains one indefinite stack of dialed in, which increases the potency of all future trick arrows effects. The opponent gains a "nowhere to hide" effect when cornered, causing them to use special attacks more often. Knocking down the opponent with a heavy attack places a tracking debuff on them. Holding the heavy attack Input for two seconds increases the amount of knock back from the attack. Knocking the opponent down by any means while they are affected by nowhere to hide refreshes all active trick arrows effects on the opponent, and inflicts them with a passive crush effect, making them unable to block attacks. Every 10 seconds, during well timed blocks or when Kate would be struck while stunned, she evades and places a passive stun on the opponent that Is removed when they are struck twice. Her special attacks have active input, which determines the potency of trick arrow effects based on how well you time the arrow shot during the attack, with perfect release granting the best bonus while early and late releases decrease the damage significantly. Holding block during a special attack slows down time so you can better time the perfect release. Kate's special 1 applies one stack of a trick arrows effect on the final hit. Kate's special 2 applies two trick arrows effects on the second hit, and the final hit inflicts a passive stun which is removed after the opponent is struck twice. Kate's special 3 grants her a precision and cruelty passive. Her damage rotation for story and event quest fights starts with cornering the opponent and applying cold snap and caltrops effects, while constantly knocking them down to refresh them. For longer fights like abyss, start the fight with the fragility and tranquilize arrows to build up dialed in stacks so that the damaging effects (cold snap and caltrops) have their damage increased.
