So this is a side-by-side comparison of Ascended to Heaven, a recent modification of Ascension to Heaven by BlueSkii, including new 2.2 elements, and the original Ascension to Heaven.

Ascended feels so much more alive. I honestly think the camera affects enhance the entire level. The ending actually impressed me as well. Its like i watched it for the first time all over again

2.2 camera effects are a really good way to enhance a level ONLY when used in moderation cause if you just abuse them it makes for bad levels

Tbh, some camera effect on 2.2 version is visually a lot more eyecandy without making the level too hard to sightreading, like the freefly mode on the wave, ship, and last ufo part is literally optimizing the entirety of freefly effect on the 2.11 version which is putting a lot of random portals in the entire part. and the camera zoom farther at the intense part is the THING that this level need for maximize the theme of the level which catch the vibe of vastness of the heaven.

too many camera effects as well like on the ship part. that part used to be my favorite but it kinda got ruined on ascended

I personally like the sound effects and I don't think they're too loud. I feel that it adds a bit more life as a "game" rather than just like watching a video with bgm.

@Ah-wz6nn hell no, grantid the sfx are terrible and should be removed (or at least some of them). The ones I think were executed well were the sfx in the ruins section of the level

Some parts of ascended to heaven seems just a little bit too much, but some other parts (like, maze of the gods) looks much better than the og version

The camera movements in 2.2 ver are REALLY well made and care for sightread which is a good desicion for a level like this. Maybe some parts may have a little too movement but overall they are well made and placed

Yeah. They will continue decorating the 2.1 version. The new 2.2 version is layout only sadly.

Eh i still prefer the 2.1 version a bit more. The camera movements sucked at some parts (free fly ship) and excelled in others (3:49) but it was a cool concept nonetheless. Honestly the best part of the 2.2 version was has to be the sound effects cause it just makes the environment feel more alive and natural

I just hate that they turned the heaven themed level into a basic level it just makes me angry i always wanted to play the heaven themed one but now its different :(

In all honesty i much prefer the 2.1 version. I feel like the new one just has camera effects/triggers and sound effects just because 2.2 is out and they happen to now be accessible to everyone. Really the only thing that i see as a positive with the new version was the decision to make the gp more playable. Other than that, imo, this new version is pretty much completely unnecessary, especially considering how many parts of the old version were already finished.

could not have said it better myself, none of these 2.2 levels have a soul. It feels like they just added random sound affects and camera movement wherever they could for no reason other than the fact they are new features and want to be the first to make something cool without thought. Ppl say the sound effects add life to the level, but the song was already great and worked perfect with the level. I want to scratch my screen whenever I hear the coin sound effects. The only differences from the 2.1 version are the sound effects, the camera movement, and the extra moving objects to make it more confusing.

@@zlepr Dont 🤦‍♂ me. I shouldn't have said "none of these 2.2 levels". There are many good levels in 2.2 that dont follow the mass production style of level creation. This level however feels like they copied and pasted the og level and added glow, sound effects, moving objects, and a couple cool effects all to make it harder to see whats happening and give the illusion of a unique level

lets be realistic, 2.1 ver are just better, static camera so amateur, other camera movements too rough, low gravity part going to far with low gravity, and other visual effect from 2.2 just doesn't make sense
