the “build your own bone” concept is so cool! Excited to see what will come out after you perfect the injection resin process.

Thanks! It certainly has been cooking in my brain for a good while. I look forward to showing more of my works

I’m really curious about your manufacturing process. What materials/processes do you use? Personally I’ve been looking into hot glue injection molding due to how cheap it’d be. Someday though, I’d like to upgrade to a Buster Beagle MK3 injection molding machine, plus a laser engraver for making aluminum molds. It’s cool to see someone with similar aspirations. Keep up the good work! (P.S. have you heard of TheCrafsMan? Great channel)

Steady craft'n always loved their channel Oh, and thank you for your questions! Ascending Depths is a legally trademarked franchise that has always aimed for innovation and cleaner manufacturing at its core. As such, I design and engineer my own machinery. Including my very own injection molding machine that can produce high capacity. Of which there is nothing close in the public market outside of factory grade machinery. Of which would be obtained if I grow more than I already am as a seller. All elements are hand-made and resin casted in the prototype phase. Before eventually having plastic copies produced. I can't say anymore at this time but you can follow all the work I have done with AD since December of 2020

Have you ever considered designing the parts digitally, then resin print them as a master for molds? Just curious, not an expert on this stuff
@Tributronbluewhiteman5 ай бұрын
Excellent question! Given how so many people do things digitally now-a-days, I have been sculpting everything by hand to emphasize my art style. There are quite a few practical artists like myself that meddle in kitbashing, clay modelling, carving and more. But for me personally it will amplify the organic nature of my culture which will be imitated & represented in Ascending Depths. A way to express the artistry of my people :)

I forgot to add as well that there is a sense of craftsmanship when something is made by hand verses digital rendering for the physical plain.

@@Tributronbluewhiteman that's interesting, I definitely agree that alot of projects that make use of 3d printers sometimes lose that, "grounded?" feeling. Now that I think more about it I'd say it also emphasizes the "bionic" part of bionic robots. Something I wished Bionicle had incorporated a lot more aspects of One more thing, (and I want to emphasize that I'm not implying that this is how things "should be done" or anything like that. Everyone's creative process is different and equally valid.) Anyway, If some would ask me to make parts by hand for a building system of some kind. I think I would look into: - Scanning my sculpted/kit bashed parts (there are devices and even apps that can do this. I have tried to do this with Photogrammetry apps, and didn't have much success) -digitally attach the bars, clips and other attachment points to assure accuracy -then do the whole resin print mould making part I sculpt robots from whatever I can find including stuff like trash, and even lego now i think of it. And have a decent amount of experience and knowledge of FDM 3D printing. So I do not know alot of any of the things I just described Im looking forward to the next update of your work, its very cool

There are always ways to make the connections work, I have been playing with tolerances for all the elements since december of 2020. But if AD becomes big enough I will start hiring people. And I may look your way, no promises though :)

Wow! I actually loved the animated expressiveness of their heads and faces , your muscle pieces and make your own bones idea is brilliant , its really out of this world when it comes to stuff like bionicle, even the brain part, it being an actual brain. I see your vision!
