Great question! No, it does not involve psychoactive substances. In truth, we have all of the "medicine" we need inside of us already. We can activate that altered state through meditative practice and listening to drumming that occurs at a particular rhythm/frequency (which alters our brain waves). Stay tuned! I'm going to make a video about that soon. 😁

@@gooberpeas7926 it is sbout entering an altered state. The most common way to reach these states has been through drumming, singing, and dancing. It is more of deep trance. Plant medicines are not for everyone and is not usually the first thing a shaman will goto. Most people that I have given plant medicines to in the past were extreme cases or seeking that treatment. Any shaman worth their salt knows that the plant is a helping spirit but not the only helping spirit.
