Congratulations! If you’re not already going, then don’t forget that RCIA is usually necessary to be able to do all the sacraments that you haven’t done (that includes the Eucharist, so please don’t go and receive it before receiving your First Communion officially). John Spinelli God doesn't want you to live your life in fear of Him either. He loves you, rest assured, more than you or anybody could ever understand. We all sin. Every. Single. One. Of. Us. Everybody from the guy that cleans your church to the pope himself. We all sin. Do the best you can and trust that God will help you. Pray for guidance constantly. Ask for help from Him to battle your sin and to help lead you I'm the direction He wants of you. Of course reach out for forgiveness often too. We all need it and God understands that. The sacrament of reconciliation is the most sure fire way of course, but asking for forgiveness yourself is an option too. You have to truly mean it though. Remember it's God you're talking to. He can see through you even if you yourself don't truly understand what you mean. I'm no cleric, trained I'm any way, or any body special, so take it for what it is worth. But that has always been my understanding.

@sstroh087 жыл бұрын
John Spinelli Also what do you mean by God surprising us? We obviously don't know the date and time but we all know sooner or later will die and pass on from here. Sorry I feel like I'm missing something here and can't figure out what it is haha. Takes me a while to catch up sometimes.

On the day my mother died I stayed with her and prayed and on her death bed she accepted God. In the early hours of the morning I was awake in a chair next to her with my hand on her. There were no lights on in the room. Then I thought the nurse must have came in and turned the overhead light on because this light was bright! Then I realised what it was it was Gods light so I held my Mother and seen her spirit shaft out the end of her body and a few seconds later I felt her kiss my cheek and she went into the light. I heard an angel reassure me she would be ok and then the light vanished. I felt totally at peace seeing this and thanked God for showing me this. I seen her spirit 2 weeks later about the same time she died and prayed for her again and I could see God wanting me to know she was being looked after. God showed me all this because He wanted to reassure me. God bless!

This is probably the scariest thing I've ever listened to. What then is the point of confession, penance and absolution if one's sins are to be hashed up and rehashed and why suffer purgatory? I converted late in life - pretty close to my sell by date. Most of my friends and guides are cradle-catholics and when I ask questions they can't answer they brush me off with "oh you haven't been a catholic long enough." as if I'm to grow in knowledge by osmosis . So I find your video's Fr Mike, and those of Fr Barron, greatly empowering. And many of the people commenting on various statements and queries have given me much food for thought. I love everything about my "new faith". But I will need time to reflect on all this judgement stuff - 70 years is a long time to accumulate a whole heap of rubbish.

I keep watching these videos and praise God for them and for Fr Mike. But I am constantly reminded of my sinfulness and that no matter how hard I try I will never be in a state of grace for long, without falling into mortal sin. I feel like my efforts are in vain even though I'm trying. I know I must not be or feel alone in this. Could you all pray for people like me that we may be completely free of (mortal) sin and live life in God's grace? (Confession is kind of difficult to get to where I live so I only manage to go once a year). Thank you for your prayers.
@creedy86126 жыл бұрын
The Sinnoh Firefly if you can frequent confession more I highly recommend it, but what’s changed my life and kept me out of mortal sins I couldn’t shake was the rosary! Mary has your best interests especially when it comes to purity. Give 15 minutes a day in prayer to the rosary and it will change your spiritual life. Confession, the Eucharist and the rosary.
@marcoferreira02236 жыл бұрын
Thank you Caroline Markey for that wonderful reply and for your kind words! I haven't prayed the rosary in forever, maybe it's time I started again? I can't remember the last time I prayed the rosary, I'm afraid I might've forgotten some of the prayers.... I do pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy more often especially around Lent but lately all I've been doing is praying a decade of the rosary and reading the Scriptures of the day which takes about 20 mins. I seem to pray really slowly (like praying the rosary for me could take up to half an hour) or find myself repeating my prayers because I wasn't concerntrating enough on what I was praying about. I really wish I could go to Confession more often, that would really help, but as I said before it's very difficult where I live. But thank you so much for your reply! I really want to stay free of mortal sin and to continue to live in God's grace!
@creedy86126 жыл бұрын
The Sinnoh Firefly that is where the Virgin Mary is so effective because she is there to keep us chaste. I love the rosary in the car first thing in the morning. There’s also rosary KZbin videos that pray the decades and you pray with them. I put those one when I drive to work. The lovely thing about the rosarynis that it is Jesus’s whole life on a string. The more you say it you will feel the affects of the grace on your life. And with temptation also say a Hail Mary before you fall into sin. Mary has a way of catching you before you fall. So glad I could encourage you! It’s a fight worth fighting. 😀 Godbless .
@marcoferreira02236 жыл бұрын
Caroline Markey you are so right, if ever there was anyone who felt temptation and fought it (and never gave into it), it was Jesus and Mary. So They can help us from falling into sin just by praying a Hail Mary while we're in temptation. But you're also right when you say the more you pray the rosary the more effective it is in our lives. Thank you for the encouragement! God bless you ❤ It's definitely a fight worth fighting - for the salvation of our souls and eternal happiness.
@creedy86126 жыл бұрын
The Sinnoh Firefly amen to that!!! Remember the temptation is not a sin, acting on it is. I compare it to bodybuilding. You have to mortify the body in order to change it, this is exactly how growing in virtue is. You have to choose to give in or ask for the grace to exercise our free will to say no. The more you do this you get your passions under control. When we sin we become a slave. For me I was like nope I’m done being a slave to my sin, and really compared it to my bodybuilding. The weight room and the diet is the hardest part but to deny my body I grow in resistance to temptation. I grow ! So now even if a box of donuts were sitting there on a very strict bodybuilding prep I can easily say no. Check out Jared Zimmerer. He’s a Catholic dad and husband and bodybuilder! I think you would love his videos!

Mike, if I was low-down on the ladder of Paradise, I'd hate everyone above me; that's natural for me, loving those less than oneself, but also despising those above oneself- that tends to be the overall rule of functions: those above are not even given the first chance, but actively sought to be destroyed due specifically to their place, due to the actions of those in power in *this* life, the only life that really matters, period!

A friend asked me about the final judgement and through what God thought me through the Holy Spirit (I asked Him to) plus your video, I think I’ll give her a pretty decent answer. :) thanks for your videos, man, I appreciate them.

I love all of the Ascension Presents videos and learn so much from them. This was a beautiful video and so many of the comments on the thread were also so beautiful that they made me cry. Thank you so much for making this video series. I look forward to watching then, learning a little more and working my "spiritual muscles" with you and pray that "poco a poco" God is working on me on my salvation.
