Above all, trust in the slow work of God. We are quite naturally impatient in everything to reach the end without delay. We should like to skip the intermediate stages. We are impatient of being on the way to something unknown, something new. And yet it is the law of all progress that it is made by passing through some stages of instability- and that it may take a very long time. And so I think it is with you; your ideas mature gradually-let them grow, let them shape themselves, without undue haste. Don’t try to force them on, as though you could be today what time (that is to say, grace and circumstances acting on your own good will) will make of you tomorrow. Only God could say what this new spirit gradually forming within you will be. Give Our Lord the benefit of believing that his hand is leading you, and accept the anxiety of feeling yourself in suspense and incomplete.

In my case I have been asking God to show me in a way I understand what I'm supposed to do. I have done and prayed for that for 23 years, still I don't know. After I graduated from college I requested guidance with more strength, but then I was jobless for around 8 years, I just couldn't get any regular job, I even hid I had a Bachelor degree to try and get jobs, I also offered myself for free just to have an opportunity to gain experience and it didn't work, so my hands were tied because I couldn't get any money to live and much less to try to pursue any desire, I tried getting scholarships too but sometimes I didn't even had the resources to start a process, and when I could I failed, shortly after that due to the help of my Japanese teacher I was able to get a job at a Japanese company, also because I knew English quite well, I learned a lot but it's not what I wanted to do, but at least I can have resources, so once I saved enough I tried to pursue my language learning ability and tried to go to Japan and because I do like to learn languages and Japan I discerned with my spiritual director it was ok, as always I asked God to guide me and if it's not for me to not allow it, I was finishing my procedure and got admitted by a Japanese school in Japan and then COVID happened. Now Japan is not admitting foreigners, and since I don't like to be coerced in to doing something, especially just using my common sense I can't accept something with a few months of research to be introduced in my body as a condition to travel, besides all this COVID business has some serious moral implications attached to it, I see myself having to abandon the possibility of doing that, and possibly not only that but the way the countries are acting possibly even having to quit my job in the future (thankfully my Country isn't mandating anything as of now). Now I think God's message might be just do what you can, but I can't help it, I feel sad and lost again. I feel as if I shouldn't desire anything, now at 37 I feel in the same spot as when I was 14, and I feel hopeless.

I totally feel the same sometimes. People progressing in their lives, reaching goals, creating families, while I am still in the exact same place I was 20 years ago. It's painful, but one good thing we can do is offering this pain to Him. God bless you!

I saw you on "Sisterhood," but I didn't recognize you at first. I saw Beauty and the Beast on Broadway. 9:10 "Above all, trust in the slow work of God." I think what we are all really looking for is God, so whatever it is that we may want or whatever it is that God may allow or give in our lives, it is, as you say, ultimately fulfilled in Him. Any vocation called to, it is really about Him. He is the end goal of all of our lives. Fr. Mark-Mary in his latest video said that heaven is the fulfillment of our desires. Bobby recently quoted Augustine, "Our heart is restless until it finds its rest in Thee." So, anything we are doing or may desire, it is really about Him. By the way, on November 28 and December 1, West Side Story is going to be in cinemas for the 60th anniversary (and of course Spielberg's version is being released on December 10). God bless. I watched Bishop Barron's video about God, the emphasis that God is not a being among many or is just the highest being is important, that God is the one whom nothing else can be greater and He is not in competition with His creations but He desires the fulfillment of all human beings to be fully alive in Him, perhaps all creations to be fully fulfilled in Him in the conclusion of all things. God doesn't need our attention or suffering for Him to operate or to be satisfied, that is the gods or goddesses of other religions perhaps, God is fully glorified and fulfilled in Himself and it is solely for our benefits that we adhere to God and give Him all our heart, soul, mind, and strength so that we will receive the ultimate goal of our desire, eternal life and everlasting happiness with God.

I think God has different plans for each one of us when it's our vocation in life. I actually was called to be a Priest but I declined as God had a different plan for me in which I got married and have a wife and sons. I thought about this and realized that God wanted me to have children so that a part of me would continue on in this world long after I'm gone. There is always regrets for the decisions we make but like I said it likely wasn't meant to be as it wasn't part of God's plan. My only hope in this world that my sons continue to stand against the wickedness of this world and bring something good to people's lives.

I must admit that I have heard some pretty bad things about the writings of Teilhard de Chardin, but the quote in this video sounds great. I guess he wrote both good and bad things, however, and therefore one should probably check out what other Catholics have said about each of his books before reading them. By the way, is it true that most Americans wear shoes indoors even in their own homes? ;)

Yes, it is true. Wearing shoes indoors is a thing. I think it is gross. I prefer walking around in socks or fluffy house slippers. We are bringing in whatever is dirty from outside to inside the house.

I do not think trust God either with my hopes and desires. I fear if I ask God what He wants for my life it will be something I absolutely hate and will be the exact opposite of what I want. Human desires are often condemned as being wrong. I like how she pokes fun at herself. I am a big crier too. How do we have free will if God already knows what we will choose? As much as I think I know myself, only God truly knows me and what is best for me. Irreligious people are so lucky that they do not have to think of this and they get to live the lives they want. Pray for me I have fallen into lust recently and I keep having these intrusive negative wish-fulfillment thoughts. I am wishing myself ill will. I have romanticized suffering to a sickening degree.

Say three rosaries a day, and then go to confession once a week. Try to go to adoration if you can at least three times a week. I promise you, and I mean I promise you, your life will radically change!

God will never force you to do something you don't want to do, He loves you and respects your free will. I've been where you are and it can be so difficult to trust God, but just know that He is so trustworthy and will never let you down, He always fulfils His promises (see Sirach 2:10 and Jeremiah 29:11). Let Him show you how to trust. Ask Him to help you trust Him and to conform your desires to His. Sometimes we feel like we have to change all on our own but He is the one who changes us. All we need to do is ask and He will do it (see John 14:14). I recommend each day to trust God with one small thing (ex. let this phone call with my boss go well) and slowly you will grow in trust as He fulfils His promises to you. "Do not let your heart envy sinners, but always continue in the fear of the Lord" Proverbs 23:18. The evil one wants you to think that those who live without God are more free and live amazing lives but it is a lie because he is a liar. They are caught in sin and that is not true freedom. Each person has hardships but we have God as our ally! Non religious people are missing out on our most loving Father. Run to the Father for forgiveness because He never tires of forgiving us, then keep walking, you can do it! Praying for you!

I'd love to be more beautiful, have more money, be less fearful, be more confident, and live a life full of sexual adventures.
