Thank you, for your easy-to-understand videos. The instructor I have for my basic computer course uses materials and language that are made for those aware of the concepts, but here you are keeping it simple and real for those learning so we can fully understand the lesson. I don't understand why the college pays this instructor when they literally could have you teaching the course using these videos.

I am a beginner. Imagine if our mother cooks. She would put our food on the table. In certain culture, the food is even served on the floor. Also, wherever the food is served, we could see the food. My questions: 1. How does computer system "see" these 0s and 1s? 2. Where are these 0s and 1s served? 3. How are these 0s and 1s presented? Do they have space between them or just infinite presentation of 0s and 1s? Suppose you say 1001100 and 1100101. Are these numbers presented as 10011001100101 or 1001100 1100101? I am really curious and I hope you could quench my intellectual thirst.

Why does standard binary uses 8-bit binary numbers while ASCII uses 7-bit Binary numbers?
@lucaspelegrino13 жыл бұрын
The reason is because you can represent all ASCII characters in 7 bits. But your computer operates on 8 bits, so a zero gets padded, but loong time ago it wasnt unsual to see 7-bit bytes computers. Today ASCII is not so much used anymore as character encoding, because it "only" good for english language, UTF-8 is more prevalent nowadays and it can take up to 8 bytes to store a character depending on the language.

Hey JG what's up? At 1:38 I was wondering where does the 2^7"-1" comes from is it because all binary systems have 1 as their lowest calculation value and it is not a binary? so on every bit systems you need to rest it for example to calculate the 16bit values you need to calculate it as follows(I think): 2^16-1=2^15 which the bigger value it should be 32768, is that correct?
