I had family on both sides at Normandy, none of them survived. One was a simple private first class infantryman coming ashore, the other was an SS officer, both were killed in action and buried in France. Neither man made it to the age of 25.

79 years ago today, 100's of bodies lay on the beaches of France. Thank a veteran. While you're at home laying in bed and playing on your phone, bodies were being piled up. Men forced into a conflict they never wanted to do. Understand and respect the privilege's you have because next time, it could be your body on a beach somewhere.
