Hi sir my son will be crying all the time if he want something or if he want to go out.if we didnot do what he want he is banging his head to floor and some time us also with head.plz suggest how to react and reduce this bhevaiour sir plz 🙏

This is Attention seeking. When he banging his head to floor means don't see him . Everybody moves away from him . do this every time then he will start understand nobody seeing him while banging his head .then he will not do it again . slowly it will fade away.my son also did this when he demand something.it is a tantram behaviour.

Hello Sir, Here in Canada we have fixed schedule for ASD child . We use visual scedule to prompt the child. In contrast you are telling to break the continuity . Our scedule is like Washroom, circle time, snack,puzzle, writing , book reading . Then walk , another activity , outdoors, etc . Do I need to break this scedule ?

Fixed schedule enhances repetitiveness and whenever the child experiences something other than his schedule...he reacts very aggressively and severely. Analyse this and decide accordingly.

It is important to identify reasons for aggressive behaviour; such as being repetitive, lack of tolerance, demands not being met etc, before the behaviour can be tackled. Thanks.

A detailed data is required for specific advice / suggestion. Anyhow it is unsocial behaviour, avoid opportunities, develop tolerance through various activities, work on his pre learning skills and socialization.

Zahir Shah Yes, randomise in all activities .. following same time for something, same patterns, not accepting / tolerating any change etc all these must be observed.

Sir... Do u suggest hitting at times... If required... If things go out of our control?
@steptolearn-dedicatedtopar6775
@steptolearn-dedicatedtopar6775 5 жыл бұрын
Preferably no... but at times, in very severe and strengthened behaviours it might be helpful... depending upon the case. It is very important to use it just as a tool to modify his severe behaviour and fade it at earliest....in no case it should be continued for longer.

Hitting shouldn’t be done in any case. Ignore the attention seeking behaviour. Behaviour difficulties are part of this disease. Behaviour should be managed with ABA and by using Reward charts .
