Thank you for visiting Cambodia. I find your review respectful and realistic. Cambodians people are more than the internet trolls. Like I know thai people are really nice people and they are not defined by the thai internet trolls either. We south east asian people resemble each other so much, food culture and beauty. We should embrace and love each other instead of hating on each other. We influence each other so much. Being honest the lady in the video, is important. For everyone.

@@positivevibes920 songkran is neither thais or khmers. Its origin is a hindu spring festival. We south east asian mostly thai and khmer are much influenced by the hindu. I think it is the most embarrassing topic to talk about claiming while we actually got most of our clothes culture from indian. We should thankful to the indians to built us such beautiful temples etc.. Papaya salad originates from Lao also. Cambodia is a country where many other south east asians comes together (vietnamese, chinese, thai, and in some regions/borders laos). But khmer food, like real khmer food has nothing to do with thai or any other SEA food. Now to the cultural clothing, from like more than 10 year ago or even more ago, I could differentiate the cultural clothes from khmer and thai, but now I see that thai cultural clothes are getting more and more similar to khmers and the other way round too, now the funny part is, both looks almost alike xD which is sad because south east asian were always similar to each other but we always have our own originality. It’s kind of weird to talk about claiming while the only thing thais and khmers does are claiming. Many many years khmer people are fighting against the claim from thais that some ancient temples belongs to them including angkor wat. Like you said being honest like the khmer lady is the least thing you can do when you bring something which is not yours into your country, just give credit to the original owner. Right? I went to many thai restaurants and saw “thai” sak and yant but it is written in ancient khmer letter, and I as a khmer can read it. Also photos of monks in cambodia and it is all claimed to be thais. So I know what you mean, let’s start with ourselves to change our behaviour and teaching our folks too.

@@positivevibes920 you know what is also sad? That the owner of this video can’t travel in Cambodia without feeling safe or welcomed base on his nationality. Me as a khmer person am also afraid to travel in thailand alone. I got called names from the minority of thai people. But it does not let hate the whole thai population or country, because I know there are many more nice, friendly, helpful thai people. This goes also with khmer people. If we don’t get ourselves together these two beautiful countries will hating each other much much more in the future. Better loving each other than hate.

@@positivevibes920 khmer and thai has a lot in common and influence each other a lot. The hatred comes from the thinking about claiming here claiming there. Look deep into the history and we all know the truth.
