this is beautiful! i tried to do a balayage on my client hair (she's a level 4-5) and I used 20 vol, but she wanted to be blonde. She was stuck on the orange and lifted so warm due to her previous colors

Isn't this technically a foilage since your are saturating the ends? The end result is beautiful, this is a great video too, I'm just still learning all the new terminology.

Technically, yes! However the word “Balayage” has such a broad scope these days and it’s the most recognizable term for most clients. Even if I say “highlights” they’ll say, no I want balayage, and show me photos of highlights. So I use it as a broad term

don't use 20 vol! you'll get a lift! only use 6 vol for deposit only

But what is the actual color you used (if I were to order it at Amazon)? At 4:46, you said "Now we'll tone with the ash brown? But what is the actual number? Is it 7.1? 7.46? What??
